I'm trying to figure out if there's an easy way to use Newcol within an acme window to show things side-by-side. It would be handy when comparing diffs. I think it will require code change. Intuition-wise, it seems like some sort of Newcol+"Replace" (or "Split"+"Replace"?) could be used to do this
