[yocto] Hung build when doing Kernel Training Lab
I've been working through the Kernel Training labs from https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-1.6.pdf. Everything is working as expected up - using Poky 1.6.03 - until I get to Lab 4. In lab 4, the kernel source is coming from a local clone of the git repository: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linuxstable.git. But, when I try to run bitbake using the recipe as included in the lab download (https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-1.6-layers.tar.bz2) it appears to hang when doing the "do_compile_kernelmodules" step for the kernel build. {I'm not where I can view the machine running, so I cannot copy or quote the exact item that the step is running on.} This is an important lab for me to complete, since my expected project will need to have all of its builds done on a network-isolated server with all of the source code brought in on read-only media. (I was planning on asking how to do that, before I found this lab exercise - and I may circle back to that question later). I'll note that my build system is a low-powered (ASUS VM42 with a Celeron 2957U 2-core processor), and is (at least currently) running Centos 7.x Thank You Ron Oakes -- ___ yocto mailing list yocto@yoctoproject.org https://lists.yoctoproject.org/listinfo/yocto
[yocto] [Query] Process of Up-streaming a new meta layer

Re: [yocto] [OE-core] [oe] OEDAM, April 8 in San Diego after ELC
We are up to fifteen now and as noted will have some off site attendees and late sign ups. Re: [yocto] [oe] [OE-core] OEDAM, April 8 in San Diego after ELC
Since I happen to live in San Diego, I have been asking around for a potential meeting room (unfortunately, I don't have an office with a meeting room myself). I am currently working with the University of San Diego and the Catamaran/Bahia Hotel. Can't promise anything yet. :rjs On Thursday, March 24, 2016 11:10:41 AM Philip Balister wrote: > We are up to fifteen now and as noted will have some off site attendees > and late sign ups. > > Philip > > On 03/23/2016 02:11 PM, Fred Ollinger wrote: > > I'm coming and I'm probably brining another person. > > > > I still have to make the wiki account which failed for some reason before. > > > > Frederick > > > > From: yocto-boun...@yoctoproject.org on > > behalf of Trevor Woerner > > Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2016 2:08 PM > > To: akuster808; openembedded-de...@lists.openembedded.org; > > openembedded-core; Yocto Project; > > openembedded-memb...@lists.openembedded.org > > Subject: Re: [yocto] [OE-core] [oe] OEDAM, April 8 in San Diego after ELC > > > > On Wed 2016-03-23 @ 09:36:40 AM, akuster808 wrote: > >> There are only 10 people signed up. > >> Is that enough people to justify the expense room or even meet? > > > > I have no idea what the budget might be or what a room might cost.
