[yocto] changing kernel config on a project built by Hob

2011-11-11 Thread Jitendra Shekhawat
Newbie here. I think I've looked at the relevant documents and couldn't
find how to do this.

What is the procedure for doing a kernel 'make menuconfig' on hob assisted
projects?

I created a simple project using following steps:
1. source poky-edison-6.0/oe-init-build-env
2. hob
3. configuration under hob:
 - Machine: atom-pc
 - Base image: core-image-minimal
 - Added openssh
4. save the image as test.bb
5. Baked the image in hob
6. Booted the result in Virtualbox after creating a bootable disk image,
etc.

I need to now modify the kernel by adding CP210x USB/Serial converter
driver.

What is the procedure for doing a 'make menuconfig' on this hob assisted
project?

Thanks.

Robert,

Thanks for the stuff and the look here. Regarding your first point

The only things that come to mind are if they work why change them?
But, if the community wants the downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases
URL in there I can certainly go in and make changes to master.

   yes, that's a judgment call, someone else can make that decision.
obviously, not a critical change.

I think someone tried to "fix" the quick start based on Robert's input
and it got broken instead.

The quick start I downloaded on Oct 21 was fine and said:

$ wget http://www.yoctoproject.org/downloads/poky/poky-edison-6.0.tar.bz2

The one I get today from
http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/current/yocto-project-qs/yocto-project-qs.html

does not work and says:

$ wget
http://www.downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases/yocto/yocto-1.1/poky-edison-6.0.tar.bz2

If you lose the "www." it should work.

I think this is a more generic and broad question to discuss it just between
OE devs. So, my apologies for cross-post, but lets ask wider audience...

[yocto] web-webkit poky package

2011-11-11 Thread Saxena, Rahul
Hi,

I have installed the web-webkit package in my core-image-sato image.
However I am facing two issues.

1. I am operating inside a corporate firewall and the browser does not
seem to be picking up the proxy settings.

I have the following set in my /etc/profile file:

http_proxy=http://:911/

export http_proxy

2. Also when I access sites within our firewall the rendering is all
messed up. What could be the issue here ?

   Any help on the above would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rahul
