"Map | Check Map" would indeed be the most logical place for it, I think. 
Adding it to the basic topic-level validity check would be useful too, though.

No, this is not supported but we could add it. However, you need to be more 
specific. Which link validation do you use? "Master Document"?
"Map|Check Map"? Other?

OK, we'll *try* to implement that in future versions of ditac and XXE.

Rationale: checking whether "My/Foo.bar#gee" exists should be case 
sensitive by default because, unlike filenames on some platforms, the 
path part of an URI is always case sensitive.
