[XeTeX] updating xe(la)tex?

Dear TUG members:

Is there any possibility to update xe(la)tex in TL 2016 from the 
development sources anytime soon?


Xe(la)tex has seen a few updates recently which are practically 
important (of course, purely subjectively), say,

The sources in the TeX Live repository are synced with
the development sources. You can update xetex by compiling
it yourself. For new binaries in TeX Live, wait for the
next TL 2017.
