Nate, That a good idea. So:
Starting Nmap 7.80 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2023-12-13 08:48 MST
Nmap scan report for 10.10.48.50
Host is up (0.0098s latency).
All 65535 scanned ports on 10.10.48.50 are closed
☹
I will be following the other thread as well. I really am against paying for
our own data.

Perhaps run an nmap scan against the console for any interesting ports that are
open? Something like:

sudo nmap -p 1-65535 -Pn <6313 IP address>

[weewx-user] Re: Neowx Rain radar and webcam

2023-12-13 Thread 'Rory Gillies' via weewx-user
Hi Mazufa,

My station uses a fork of NeoWX Material (www.360shetland/weather), I've
added in loads of extras, and there's a couple of very good and reasonably
active forks on Github: https://github.com/seehase/neowx-material.

To add in radar / webcam you can create inc files with iFrames then add
them to the index.html.tmpl file were you want them. My Windy and satellite
maps are called in the main page layout section between the #end for and
the closing :

##
+-+
## | The main page layout
 |
##
+-+

$Extras.Translations[$Extras.language].current | $station.location

  #include "head.inc"

#attr $active_nav = 'current'
#include "header.inc"

Current Conditions

  #for $x in $Extras.Appearance.values_order

  #if $x == "ET"
#if $day.ET.has_data and $day.ET.sum.raw is not None and
$day.ET.sum.raw > 0.0
  $valuesCard('ET')
#end if
  #else
$valuesCard($x)
  #end if

  #end for

##

## | iFrame to display Windy.com forecast and wind map
  |
##
+-+

  #include "forecast.inc"   <--- Add here
  #include "meteoblue.inc"  <--- Add here

The inc files are basic HTML as if it was included in the document, here's
an iframe that you can insert your own source:

  Your Heading

To localise your version add a [[[fi]]] section in the [[Translations]]
section (use the existing languages as a guide), then set the language in
the [Extras] section, language = fi

Hope this helps,

Rory

Hello!

it and would someone have ready-made software? Then there would also be the
question of how to get those metrics into Finnish? Like Barometer etc? I
have changed the language of the Neowx condifuration file to Finnish, but
only the ones in the upper corner, Nykyinen, Eilinen, Viikko, etc., changed
to Finnish.

Thanks for help!

Typically, if there were a port open this scan would have shown it.
There are other command line options for a deeper probing scan but in
this case I think they're unnecessary. I'm far from an nmap expert, I
just use it from time to time to check things on my LAN or to make sure
my router firewall is blocking what I think it is.

> I will be following the other thread as well. I really am against paying for

I agree, Bob. I willingly upload to Wunderground because I also derive
a bit of value from their site. That is the only commercial entity I
upload to. Otherwise I upload to CWOP via the APRS network and that
goes to MADIS where other sites such as Mesowest and PWS weather pick it
up. I'm also fine with that as I also derive some value from their
respective presentations of that data.

That said, where Davis is going with the 6313 is not for me either.
Even though I bought their software way back in 2015, which I never
used, only to get their flaky logger (later replaced by one I bought
from Australia (I think, as I've lost the contact info) that is a solid
performer), I never signed up for an account on their site. WeeWX has
gathered that data since Day One.

[weewx-user] Ambientweatherapi not finding ambient_api

2023-12-13 Thread Mark Sanchez
Hello all,
I had this somewhat working last week but then it just stopped collecting
data so I had to start over. Now, when I'm following all the steps to
install WeeWX with the AmbientWeatherAPI it is not working. I am getting
the following errors:

  ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'ambient_api'
Dec 13 09:27:20 raspberrypi python3[657]: weewx[657] CRITICAL __main__:

I have the ambient_api module installed via pip install ambient_api. Is
there a way to manually enter my keys in the api module? The other two
errors with the engine.py file I'm not understanding at all.

Thanks.

Will this work itself out or is this just stuck in a loop?

This is super cool as I have now purchased the same weather station.
However, I'm terrible with Docker. I can't seem to get this running. It
seems to keep tripping at steps. Right now I'm stuck because something
needs to happen with the ${PWD} variable. Do I need to change that to just
my password in the docker-compose.yaml file? I appreciate you setting all
 of this up though!

Re: [weewx-user] Connecting to new Davis Console model 6313

2023-12-13 Thread Nigel Bennett
There is currently NO local access API to the new LCD touchscreen (6313)
console. You would have to read back data from weatherlink.com
The screenshot from Philip is from a WiFiLogger2, a third party logger that
fits in the old Davis consoles and among other functions can emulate the
Davis IP logger. ( http://wifilogger.net )
If you want/need local access to data from a Davis weather station (either
VP2 or Vue) then the only option using current hardware is to use the Davis
WeatherLink Live (6100) and use the API
 on that to get
JSON formatted data. Several WeeWx drivers have been written for this. See
the second post in this thread.

[weewx-user] Re: Ambientweatherapi not finding ambient_api

2023-12-13 Thread Mark Sanchez
Okay. I wiped the SD card and started over. Turns out I was installing the
API driver using wee_extension and that was causing issues.
However, it doesn't seem to be logging data for more than an hour now. This
is the issue I had before and why I started over again. Is there anyone
knowledgeable enough with this driver? Do I need to switch on logging
somehow from the API calls? It just doesn't seem to update unless I run
wee_reports manually.
Thanks.
