SV: WinVNC alert

2001-10-30 Thread Egil Opstad

hi

I'm not shure that WinVNC can do this, but NetSend, Send and NTSend can.
With these programs you can send messages to spessified computers, users or
domains. If NETBIOS is enabled, this program should work.
NTSend can be downloaded from this adress:

Hello:

I apologize if I've missed this topic in a previous discussion... I'm having
trouble getting VNC to work correctly on a Win 2000 Server. It will work if
I use the App Mode method but the service doesn't seem to work right. The
service is installed and started but I can't connect with my VNC client. Is
there something special that needs to be done to get this to work under Win
2000? I've tried un-installing and re-installing several times.

Thanks,
John Dillon

SV: Problem using winVNC

2001-10-14 Thread Egil Opstad

Hi

Did you apply the registry change to the Server?

I have 3 computers running on a MS TCP network. I am able to share files
and
printers with no problem.

Two of the computers use Intel Celeron CPUs and a laptop uses a Cyrix CPU.
The celeron computers use WIN98 SE and the laptop uses WIN98. After
installing the latest version of VNC on all of them, I am able to view
either
of the Celeron computers from the laptop, and view the laptop from either of
the Celeron computers. However. setting up either Celeron Computer with VNC
as a server, and the other as a viewer, when I attempt to connect, I receive
the message, "Please Wait _ Initial Screen Loading." I have applied the
info
about the Registry that I found in the archives/2001-01/0293.html, but only
to one of the two computers. What should I do next?

By the way, I can ping both remaining computers from the other computer and
receive a reply.

Thanks for any help!

Frustrated,

Bruce, W5HCS

Hi,

My vncviewer session has a Desktop Geometry of 640x480x8 though on the
server it is set to 1024x768.

Do any of you have any ideas about this?

TIA!

Cheers

Hi,

I use the axvnc from axel as I need to allow more than 1 user to login with
his own username/password. So my Xvnc actually gives a login screen to the
viewer.

The connection info property says that the Desktop Geometry is 640x480x8,
but the script has 1024x768.

I could post the sceen shots here, but I am afraid that is a lot of bytes
and hence just this mail.

When I run it as a single user under whom I start the xvnc directly, then
the geometry is 1024x768.

I am stumped as to why the reset is happening.

TIA!

Cheers
Pramodh

I'm running VNC as a service in windows 2000, is there a way to get rid of
the tray icon?

I also need help to configure the vnc server to only accept one ip adress.

If you've got this to work, please please pleeease email me! =)
