VNC under Windows ME

2001-04-05 Thread Charles Coleman

I've installed VNC under that wonderful OS system. Windows ME, and it will not
run no matter what I've tried. Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thanks in
advance.

Re: VNC under Windows ME

2001-04-06 Thread Charles Coleman

Thanks for the responses everyone. It's a strange problem to be sure, I'm
not running a "network" as such. Simply a cable modem connection to the
internet. From my work PC I'd like to access my desktop at home. Yet with
my version of Windows ME the applet will not initialize at all, no error
message is generated and no SysTray icon to indicate the activity of the
program exists. I'm stumped... any suggestions?

Re: VNC under Windows ME

2001-04-07 Thread Charles Coleman

I don't believe it's a matter of internet sharing or even browser usage.
The applet will not initialize under my Windows ME. I have not indicator in
the SysTray to show that the service is up and running. I have an FTP
server that works fine and can connect remotely via PC anywhere. I'd much
rather use VNC if at all possible. It looks like I may have to move to
Win2000.

Re: secure vnc

2001-04-09 Thread Charles Coleman

Thanks much for all you help I really appreciate it. Finally found the
problem. The port that VNC was accessing was disabled. Chalk this one down
to a "Brain Burp" on my part. Many thanks again.
Charles.
