SSH
Hi Guys No, my VNC connection over SSH works perfect using openssh and one windows computer as server and one client from where ever you want :-) But i was wondering how the ssh security works as there are lots of options and methods i never heard about. Do you may have any links and how tos to read about this stuff ? SSH works without changing any security settings or creating any keys and i was wondering how to change these keys and witch methode is standart and is this secure and all this kind of questions. If you have any links, How To's or books to be recommended, i would be gratefule if you give me a note ;) Cheers Richard ___ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list

RE: Alcatel speed touch router + VNC
My modem which has been flashed to be a router is not accessable at all from the internet. I ran the test at http://gotomyvnc.com/ just to see what happened but it didn't work. I have taken screen shots of the mainmenu, ip route table and ipaddress table. You can look at them here " http://hesketh.decoder.com.au/alcatel/ ". Hopefully those pictures will help, without needing to know specific model numbers etc. -Luke >From: "Seak, Teng-Fong" >To: >Subject: RE: Alcatel speed touch router + VNC >Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 19:18:38 +0100 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Received: from mc3-f17.hotmail.com ([64.4.50.153]) by mc3-s20.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.6824); Fri, 12 Mar 2004 10:22:55 -0800 >Received: from realvnc.com ([213.239.45.162]) by mc3-f17.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.6824); Fri, 12 Mar 2004 10:21:54 -0800 >Received: from realvnc.com (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1])by realvnc.com (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id i2CIJDf23712;Fri, 12 Mar 2004 18:19:13 GMT >Received: from www (access-245.124.rev.fr.colt.net [213.41.124.245]) by realvnc.com (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id i2CIIcf23672 for ; Fri, 12 Mar 2004 18:18:38 GMT >Received: from DELL.futurmaster.com ([10.1.1.4]) by www with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.6713); Fri, 12 Mar 2004 19:12:31 +0100 >X-Message-Info: QmWay3Ni3G1JXXgdi63+VV/a4xTAebsi9pVgJ/riV00= >Message-ID: >content-class: urn:content-classes:message >Thread-Topic: Alcatel speed touch router + VNC >Thread-Index: AcQIIiBw2vPCbKvqRQyjxpYRrh8SqAAM6C5g >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 12 Mar 2004 18:12:31.0209 (UTC) FILETIME=[95D6F590:01C4085D] >X-MIME-Autoconverted: from quoted-printable to 8bit by realvnc.com id i2CIIcf23672 >Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >X-BeenThere: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 >Precedence: bulk >List-Help: >List-Post: >List-Subscribe: , >List-Id: The VNC Discussion List >List-Unsubscribe: , >List-Archive: >X-Original-Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 19:18:38 +0100 >Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Please reply to the *list* > > I don't know, from the screen shots, maybe you don't need any port forwarding. Re: VNC and Routers (was: )
Salomon: Heya. If you can't get port-forwarding and your router to work nicely with VNC, you might want to give Kaboodle a try. With the KaboodleProxy feature, two Kaboodle users can connect with each other without either of them having to adjust their firewall/routers at all. The connection is made with Zebedee, so you can a secure VNC session as well. Details here: http://www.kaboodle.org/KaboodleProxy.html I hope it helps! -Scott > Hi, I have a LAN connected to Internet using DSL with SMC Barricade 7004ABR > And I have the same problem I have read others have. > I did the port forwarding correctly 5901 to 192.168.2.x, 5902 to 192.168.2.y, > etc. The idea was to access each PC on the LAN from Internet with VNC. > The only way I could connect to one PC was entering that PC to the DMZ; but I > tryed to add the other PC's and it was not possible. > When you enter the DMZ, your current WAN IP is displayed by default on the > left column, but just for the first row.
