[vdr] Problem with remote keys learning and screensaver: vdr 1.7.31 + softhddevice
Hello All, I tried yesterday vdr 1.7.31 together with latest softhddevice from git. I noticed 2 problems: - During remote learning there were displayed no messages (e.g. "remote key learning", "press any key", "press key for up" etc) as well as system load and some other info shown at vdr start up. I had to try starting vdr several times and press blindly the keys on the remote in order to see some messages (e.g. "press key for up" etc). Even for these messages it would not clean the "message area" when displaying new messages for key learning. It would display the new message on top of the old one. When learning was finished everything seemed to work correctly. All menus displayed correctly. I don't know if this is a vdr or a softhddevice bug. - It would not de-activate the default screen saver, so I had to disable it permanently. This probably a softhddevice issue. - I am using ubuntu 12.04 with unity (default installation, no ppas). I compiled vdr and softhddevice from source. Kernel is 3.2.0-31-generic i686 version with latest media_build drivers. My dvb device is ITE 9135(9005) Generic (usb DVB-T). The commercial name for it is "TECHNAXX DVB-T STICK S4". With the exception of these two problems the rest of the user experience was quite pleasant. Channel switching was very fast and image quality was pretty good. VDPAU was recognized from softhddevice and load on my dual core Athlon64 was small (5%-10% for full hd programs). Re: [vdr] Can not view DVB-S2 channels
I dont think that this is the case because with encrypted DVB-S channels I get a blank screen but NOT the message "channel not available". I get this message ONLY on DVB-S2 channels. I can perfectly watch HD Suisse which is DVB-S. I think I am missing a patch. I think there must be a patch that "tells" vdr that these channels are DVB-S2 and instructs the card accordingly to switch to dvb-s2 "mode". Basically I use vdr-1.7.0 with this patch: http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/vdr/attachments/20080413/1054bcfb/attachment-0001.bin and vdr-xine as described here: http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/OpenSUSE_VDR_DVB-S2_-_xine Am I missing a patch or something else? Re: [vdr] Can not view DVB-S2 channels
As far as trying vdr with clear DVB-S2 channels, unfortunately it is not possible in my case since I only have access to Hotbird, which I think has no clear DVB-S2 channels. As fas as changing encrypted flag, vpid, ppid and dpid, can you please give me an example, what I have to change in the following line: Next HD;SkyItalia:11996:vC23M5S1Z35:S13.0E:27500:10160+160:0;400=ita,401=eng:0:919,93B:11030:64511:6400:0 Finally, I have to mention that using multiproto (not multiproto plus) and modified szap, I can tune to Next HD and get a lock (of course I can not watch the channel, I just get the message from modified szap that it has lock). Modified szap does not work at all with multiproto plus. Moreover, using multiproto (not multiproto plus) and vdr-1.5.14 (with h264 patch) or vdr-1.5.12 (with dvb-s2 + h264 patch) I have exactly the same behaviour with vdr-1.7.0 and multiproto plus : channel not avaialble for all DVB-S2 channels. Thank you Vangelis Igor wrote: >> Vangelis Nonas wrote: >> >>> I dont think that this is the case because with encrypted DVB-S channels >>> I get a blank screen but NOT the message "channel not available". Re: [vdr] Can not view DVB-S2 channels
My multiproto version is not the latest, it is changeset 7205 dated a couple of months ago. My modified szap is dated from that date also, but it does not compile with multiproto plus. I cant find the exact links I downloaded multiproto and modified szap but they were mentioned on the linux-dvb mailing list. Re: [vdr] Can not view DVB-S2 channels
When I switch to Initial channel I dont get the channel not available message, however I dont get a picture as well. I believe that this channel is not receivable, at least not at my location. Re: [vdr] Can not view DVB-S2 channels
As far as Igor's confirmation on "channel not available" I get this message only on DVB-S2 encrypted channels. I dont get it on encrypted DVB-S channels. As far as Reinhard's suggestion for the Initial channel (to tune for a few minutes before the card actually tunes), I could not get a sustained lock. It locked after about 10 minutes, it gave me TS stream errors for a few seconds and then it lost lock. I have the feeling that the channel is not available at my location/dish installation. [vdr] reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264
I have created a patch for reelchannelscan 0.6.1 and vdr-1.7.0. I have substituted cDevice::Provides_S2 with true (I have a dvb-S2 card). It is not the correct way to do it but I did not know what to do I have changed some constants like PSK8, FEC_2_3, etc with other constants I found in vdr that usually start with DVBFE. I hope it is correct. The plugin seems to work OK with DVB-S stations. When you ask it to scan for HDTV it only returns DVB-S, not DVB-S2. I would appreciate your help, in order to make this plugin work properly. The attachment is compressed with bzip2. Re: [vdr] reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264
Hello, My patch does not change anything in vdr. I have tested it on my machine. Here I have vanilla vdr 1.7.0 with the h264 patch. Try applying this patch to your vdr and post back. Maybe this is the problem. Try make clean;make clean-plugins;make;make plugins. To apply the h264 patch : wget http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/vdr/attachments/20080413/1054bcfb/attachment-0001.bin mv attachment-0001.bin vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff.bz2 bunzip2 vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff.bz2 and then patch -p1 inside your vdr directory. Hello, After patching you have to go to main vdr directory and from there run "make plugins". Re: [vdr] + DVB-S2 + reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264
Hello Goga, I tested it with automatic scan (dont know if manual scan works). Moreover, I had selected TV+Radio (not HDTV) and the scanner pick up both DVB-S AND DVB-S2 channels. I haven't done any more testing with other parameters. I have Hotbird in my installation and it picked up in total 1626 services (TV+Radio). Maybe it missed a few (my satellite box gets about 2050, but this number includes data services). Moreover I dont know whether the file with the transponders for Hotbird ( (vdr-video-dir)/plugins/transponders/S13.0E.tpl ) is updated (maybe it is missing a few transponders. During compilation, I get the warning as well. Can you try again with default parameters and post back pls? Hello Goga, For transponders 11258, 11278 , 11449 I get no channels as well. Re: [vdr] + DVB-S2 + reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264
No, the channels I mention are found by reelchannelscan. Are you sure the other transponders have contents? Because, neither my box receiver can get anything there.. But, I can not see Eurosport HD in my installation., maybe I dont get all Hotbird's beams, I dont know Anyway, it is strange you get nothing from reelchannelscan.. I get about 1600 servicess. Using my previous patch (which worked only for DVB-S) did you get any channels? If you scan all of Hotbirds transponders (having removed the S2 at the end of the line and with default settings) how many channels do you get?
