Yes i got both of them. Just making sure i am patched up with seekable.
Trying to get spamassassin install. Well it is much more difficult than
qmail-scanner.

Well is it because of me? My creation of the email?

Hi everyone,

I just want to add a comment here. If you want to use it globally for the
domain then I use the .qmail-default otherwise single user is .qmail-username.

Just my 2 cents.

Or (simply) a file named .qmail in the user's directory, next door to
the Maildir/.

Going through the queue, i notice that almost all of the mails in the the

I had checked the /var/log/qmail/current

 Hi All,
I have a problem with vpopmail-5.4.7 runing on FreeBSD 4.10. It is a new installation
followed step by step the qmailrocks.org FreeBSD installation guide. By adding a new
domain with:

# /usr/home/vpopmail/bin/vadddomain domain.com
Please enter password for postmaster: ***
enter password again: ***

I'v got this message:

Error: (vadduser) Domain does not exist

The /usr/home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/ folder is created but contains only the
.qmail-default file.
The /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains is writen and the domain.com:domain.com string
is added. Equal for the rcphosts.
Any Ideas?
Thanks In advance

[vchkpw] Vpopmail with mysql and md5-apop/md5-cram auth

2002-12-17 Thread Info @ wdc
Hello,

on an old server i've got a vpopmail-installation without
mysql-support.
On this system the auth with md5-apop/md5-cram worked well.

Now I have a new system with mysql-support
(./configure --enable-clear-passwords=y --enable-valias
--enable-roaming-users=y --enable-logging=y --enable-defaultquota=1000M
--enable-relay-clear-minutes=60 --enable-md5-passwords
--enable-auth-logging --enable-log-name=/var/log/vpopmail.log
--enable-qmail-ext --enable-mysql=y --enable-mysql-replication=y
--enable-large-site=y --enable-libdir=/usr/lib --enable-mysql-logging=y
--enable-vpopgroup=vchkpw --enable-apop=y --enable-learn-passwords=y)

But md5-driven auth fails, because the auth-process log into the system
with a md5-key, which is not the same as the normal password of the
user.

How can I solve this problem?

the manual query contain the clear password and the pw_passwd as encrypted (maybe

I use Version 5.3.6 of vpopmail as used in shupp.org/toaster but with the

[vchkpw] vpopmail problem

2004-12-30 Thread focuz info
Dear all,
I have a qmail mailserver with vpopmail. I am creating users
using vadduser command. I had created some 8 domain name with some 150
users in total domainnames.
The main domainname is like test.com . Domain names are like this
test.com - 80 users
admin.test.com - 10 users
afd.test.com - 5 users
amd.test.com - 7 users
staff.test.com- 8 users
rd.test.com- 9 users
cse.test.com-10 users
elect.test.com-5users

The problem now is when i create a user in test.com say
guest, the user maildir is created like this in
/home/vpopmail/domains/test.com/0/guest/Maildir.Already i have created
users in same test.com which were in
/home/vpopmail/domains/test.com/username folder. This problem started now
only. From where is this test.com/0/ coming

Actually the user guest should be created in
/home/vpopmail/domains/test.com/guest.

why is directory named 0 is created. This type of user creation is only for
test.com domain. In other domain when i add user the user Maildir is
created in /home/vpopmail/domains/'domainname'/ username.

Can anyone suggest me solution why user directoy are created in
/home/vpopmail/domains/domainname/0/ - folder.

Thanks for any help

Hai all,
Thanks for your reply.
Now one more problem occured. I have setup procmail in all users directory.
There will be
.qmail-guest . in /home/vpopmail/domains/test.com/.This file is like this
| preline procmail -t ./guest/Maildir/Procmail/procmailrc

In procmail folder procmailrc file is like this
SHELL=/bin/sh
PMDIR=./guest/Maildir/Procmail
LOGFILE=$PMDIR/pmlog
VERBOSE=on
:0
*
./guest/Maildir/
this syntax i was following till number of users were below 100. Filtering
with procmail was also working for users below 100. Now after 100 users i
added the .qmail-username file, procmailrc file but filtering is not
working. I had checked the filepaths in procmailrc files, it was currect..
Please suggest me a solution why the filtering with procmail was not working
for users created after 100.
Thanks for any help

This is explained well in the "README" file that comes with vpopmail.
Look for "user directory structure".
Imagine test.com when it gets up to 500 or 5000 or 5 users.
To have all of the users in one directory is not efficient on
all filesystems so vpopmail automatically uses hashing to break
user directories out into subdirectories after the first "100"
users. If I had a script to create "vadduser user1" up to
"user25000", I might find the user hashing to look like...
/home/vpopmail/domains/DOMAIN/__/Maildir
  user1
  user2
  ...
  user99
  user100
  0/user101
  0/user102
  ...
  0/user199
  0/user200
  1/user201
  1/user202
  ...
  9/user999
  9/user1000
  A/user1001
  ...
  Z/user3600
  a/user3601
  ...
  z/user6200
  0/0/user6201
  ...
  0/z/user12400
  1/0/user12401
  ...
  1/z/user24800
  2/0/user24801
  ...
  2/1/user25000
Instead of assuming that a user's Maildir is in the directory
"cd /home/vpopmail/domains/$DOMAIN/$USER/Maildir", Vpopmail
administrators typically use "cd `vuserinfo -d [EMAIL PROTECTED]",
or even safer, "cd `vuserdir [EMAIL PROTECTED]".
  #!/bin/sh
  # WARNING: untested code - use at your own risk
  #
  # vuserdir - print out the vpopmail directory for a user
#or "." if it does not exist.
  #
  # Syntax: "vuserdir address"
  #
  address=$1
  if [ "$address" = '' ]
  then
echo "vuserdir: No address specified" 1>&2
echo .
exit 1
  fi
  dir=`vuserinfo -d $address`
  if [ "$?" = 0 -a -d "$dir" ]
  then
echo $dir
  else
echo "vuserdir: Directory for $address not found: $dir" 1>&2
echo .
exit 1
  fi
The hashing is controled by the "OPEN_BIG_DIR" define in vpopmail's
"config.h". If you never intend to use large user directories (*),
then commenting this out the define before installing might avoid
this behavior, or you can compile MAX_USERS_PER_LEVEL (in vauth.h)
to be a really high number.
Best practice, though, would have you use directory hashing just
like everyone else. Imagine that someday someone else withh have
to take over your qmail/vpopmail installation and worry about your
local customizations. It becomes difficult for them to upgrade to
the next version of vpopmail if they have to patch the code each
time.
The directory hashing is also used on domains. So if you add more
than 100 domains, you'll see /home/vpopmail/domains/0.
