[vchkpw] help with auth vpopmail

2003-01-11 Thread George Tolea
I have a problem with my email server : qmail + vpopmail + courier-imap
(pop3). (without any patch).
On my Mozilla Mailserver I set:
Server Settings : server name: domain_name.com
user name: a
Accounting Settings: email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
With that settings I can send this email.
It is not normal, because I autentificate my self with user a and the
email will go with user b, and this email will go from
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
How and what can I do to eliminate that problem?
I want that email to not be send.
There is a patch for something like that?
Something to verify that the server of email to be the same with user name
used for authentification on pop3.
Can you give my sone suggestions? What patches to use on qmail or vpopmail or
...where is the problem...
Thank you.

How stable would you say 5.3.12 is? I'm thinking of using it. I've
been having wierd things happening to me in the past with vQadmin and
Qmailadmin fighting eachother and writing over the database with a
hashed copy. From what I gathered, vQadmin was writing everything to
cdb, while qmailadmin was using sql directly. Any change I made in
vqadmin I had to run vconvert -c -m. yadda yadda. long story short,
it got all hosed. :) I think I fixed that by getting the latest
vqadmin and qmailadmin, now its working great. Next step is upping
sqwebmail, I had to install a hack script to restart the authdaemon
every 30 minutes because for some reason after that nobody can log
in. hrmph, i suppose it has something to do with the clearcache.pl
script? Thing is I understand nothing about that, and documentation
on it has been kind of sketchy. maybe i'm not looking at the right
place? well if anything doing it over will probably solve the
problem. :) I'm just wondering if I should try it with the latest
vchkpw code just yet, or if you feel that I'm going to experience a
massive meltdown.
Cheers.

Hi!

I have a problem here. I have 2 e-mail accounts with NOQUOTA (yeah, it's
stupid, i know that :)
I need to change *all* to 10mb's. I tried to use vqadmin to set the default
user quota for my domain but seems to have NO effect on existing accounts
nor new accounts.
I can't recompile vpopmail because I have another domains that I need to
have no quota limits.
My users sign up their e-mails using vqregister, so I need a default value
since vqregister has no quota setting when creating accounts.

Thank's in advance.

[vchkpw] vpopmail from an old to a new mailserver

2003-01-11 Thread web4.hm - Peter Padberg
Hi!
:)

I have a question and perhaps someone can help me.

I have an old emailserver with vpopmail and i want to transfer
all old domains and emailadresses to a newer vpopmail-server.

The old vpopmail-server is a V4.9 (?) and the new-mailsever is a 5.2.1

I only copied all files from
/home/vpopmail/domains
to the new vpopmail server (/home/vpopmail/domains , too of course),
but noone can ask for new emails.

When I add a new domain with the new vpopmail-server everyting is going
good.

Did i made something wrong?
What can I do that I must do not create all domains with all
pop3-accounts new?

I will be very glad,
if someone can help me.

Viele Gruesse,
Peter.

btw: How can I find out the vpopmail Version ?

[vchkpw] Vpopbull message format?

2003-01-11 Thread Remo Mattei
Hi guys I checked out vpopbull and I was not able to have mail being sent. I
have done the following:
Vpopbull -f filename domainname.com

I get a message which does not have anything in it. In the filename I just
put "hi this is a test" in one line.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: [vchkpw] vpopmail from an old to a new mailserver

2003-01-11 Thread Robin Bowes
Peter,

You'll need to make sure that you migrate your qmail settings too.

In /var/qmail/control/ check rcpthosts and virtualdomains.

Also, in /var/qmail/users check assign and make sure cdb is rebuilt (using
qmail-newu)
