Failed to run meta SpamAssassin tests

2005-05-17 Thread jj-ml
Hi all,

I have just install SA 3.0.3 running perl 5.6.1.
When i test it with spamassassin -D --lint, i've got this message.
Do i have to worry, because i've no clue how to debug it?
Does anyone also got this error?

Thanks a lot.

spamd keep growing up in memory size

2005-05-23 Thread jj-ml
Hi all,

I am a little worry. I've just install SA 3.03 (perl 5.6.1) with qmail and
maildrop, on a debian stable.
It runs Razor, Pyzor, DCC and URIDNSBL. I use MySQL to store Bayes, awl and
rules.
It is base on a per user config so user1 and user2 doesn't have the same
bayes and awl training.
Everything works fine BUT spamd keeps become bigger and bigger.
When i start it, it take about 31M of memory per child (i get 5) and after a
week, it grows up to 43M of memory.
Is it a problem? Will it grow over and over?

Also, I still have a error message:
Failed to run meta SpamAssassin tests, skipping some: syntax error at (eval
61) line 477, near ") {"
syntax error at (eval 61) line 496, near ";
}"
lint: 1 issues detected. please rerun with debug enabled for more
information.

Is it related to my problem?

An help would be appreciate.
Thank in advance.

Julien JACQUES

Thank for the quick answer Loren.
I'will try the --max-conn-per-child=100 option to see how it work.

Also, i resolve my syntax error just after posting..

Thank

whitelist a certain adress

2005-05-24 Thread jj-ml
Hello,

Some of the mail from the spamassassin mailing-list are consider as spam.
I put in my rule : whitelist_to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
But it seems it's not working.

As everybody in that list must have the same problem than me, can anyone
gives me a hint ??

Thank a lot,
Julien

RE: whitelist a certain adress

2005-05-25 Thread jj-ml
Hi Loren,

I put your rule in my local.cf file and it's working great.
As i run spamassassin on qmail/maildrop with mysql per users setting and
that i put it in the global conf, everybody white-list the SA list.
It's obsiouly not a pb but how can i white-list specific adresses with per
users setting.

ex: for users1, i want to white list [EMAIL PROTECTED] but not for users2.
I already put in mysql: whitelist_to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for users1
but that doesn't for as MATT said earlier, "Unfortunately this doesn't work
for messages bcc'ed to the" users1.

How do you do the trick?
Can i put your rules directly in the DB?

Julien

RE: changing bayes from individual to global

2005-05-25 Thread jj-ml
Hello,

As Devin, I actually run spamassassin SA 3.03 with per user bayes store into
a mysql DB.
What are the favour and the disadvantage of that solution?
What are the favour and the disadvantage of a global bayes solution?

I also see a number of person who stop to use bayes. Is it a good idea?

As you can see, i begin with SA and i don't already have "THE BEST
SOLUTION".
But does someone got it?

thanks
Julien

If you want to keep the mysql db for bayes, you can do:
bayes_sql_override_username
Used by BayesStore::SQL storage implementation.
If this options is set the BayesStore::SQL module will override
the set username with the value given. This could be useful for
implementing global or group bayes databases.

in your local.cf

Obviously, spamassassin doesn't like the way IMP forges the Received header.
I 've google a bit and didn't find much...

I've checked the spamassassin list and find that the bug was fix (???) in
version 3.01 (http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4008)

So i'm a bit confuse... What should i do?? Fix IMP? fix Spamassassin? both?
thanks in advance.

how to submit a spammer?

2005-07-08 Thread jj-ml
Hi all,

I've received once a day a spam from [EMAIL PROTECTED] (fidbroker.com)
Since it is a french company and i live in france, i call them (the phone
number is in the spam)
and tell them to stop. They told me they will do so, but of course they
don't do anything.

Obsiouly, they already had pb with their previous ISP and change their email
address.

So i want to submit the website and their email to a RBL so that everybody
can tag them as spam.
How to do so?

second pb: in some of them, there is a big attachment (> 500k) so it doesn't
go throw spamassassin. How to resolv that pb?

thanks
