Re: Spreadsheet Formula Hiding "0"
Replacing an Number Field with text as in your formula will have impact on calculations like COUNT() or AVERAGE() Also your formula doesn't take into account negative numbers Suppressing the display of zeros in your Options works on your Display, but it will not suppress your it when you print or export as PDF. To Suppress the output of zero values you can work with Conditional Formatting and set the Cell Protection to "Hide when printing". Working with number formatting like # only works with whole numbers but still display a value 0.123 as .123 On 02/06/2020 00:13, Snapafun wrote: Great suite - Thanks. I love to hide the "0" value in cells yet to be populated and to do so I use the =IF(Target Cell>0;Actual Formula;"") setup. This works well for me upon the Target Cell being the result or a manual entry. However, this doesn't work when the Target Cell contains a formula. ( I appreciate that the formula setup as above is correct and that it now recognizes that the Target Cell is populated so is ">0" - just that viewed in real life - no actual value yet exists.) Maybe there's a way of re-addressing the value "0" in the 1st part though it would be nice for a private user to be able to keep their formulas simple. So - not necessary a fault or bug or anything at all - just a thought in case it's possible. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
PROBLEM
Hello! I've used your products for a long time and am a fan! However just yesterday I've hit a big problem. I restarted my computer and when I turned it back on, OpenOffice is giving me grief. I open the program and ALL the words (not just the mistakes) are underlined in red. See below (message continued below) : [cid:c3ac7699-3bb6-49c1-be94-87b0b66afd4c] I tried restarting my laptop-- didn't work. So I downloaded the newest OpenOffice-- didn't work-- same thing. I turned off the spellcheck, they all went away (even the errors), but when I turned it back on, everything is underlined again (saying their errors). I even tried switching the language from English Canada to English US-- didn't do anything I'm a journalist (a writer) so I need to see what my errors are-- not every word. This is a real pain Do you know how to fix this? Please help! Jesse
Re: PROBLEM
This is most likely a problem with your User Profile. It is usually caused by a too hasty shutdown of your computer. See: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=89050 for explanations on how to resolve this problem. Transfering custom syles from an old document
I have a document originally done on a system I no longer have access to which has custom styles I would like to use for a new project. Is there an easier way to to transfer them from that document to my present system than opening the old document and a new one and recreating then one by on in the new document? Thanks in advance for your advice Keith signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

You may find your solution in https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Writer_Guide/Copying_and_moving_styles On 4/6/20 10:45 am, Keith N. Re: Transfering custom syles from an old document
Yes, this can be done using the Styles and Formatting dialog. How to change styles in a document is described in the Writer Guide for AOO. You may need to do a search to download it. In addition, you should also use these custom styles to create a template for future use. That will give you access to these styles anytime you need it. How to do this is also explained in the Writer Guide. (It is an excellent source for how to use the Writer component for AOO when doing any number of tasks.) I no longer use AOO, so I can not give you complete instructions, but in the long term you need to know what is contained in this guide. Download it and study its contents.
