Check for Updates Manually Can't find OpenOffice Version 4.1.4

2017-10-26 Thread BOBBY ZIINO
Hi there,

It's been a week since OpenOffice 4.1.4 has been released and it still isn't
found via the Check for Updates setting mechanism when searched for manually,
is it still yet to be uploaded to the Apache OpenOffice servers or is it no
longer provided through the Check For Updates mechanism.

I previously updated to 4.1.3 from 4.1.2 from the Check for Updates checker
mechanism.

Regards Bobby

Bullets in Version 4.1.4

2017-10-26 Thread Jeanette Foster
I have just installed the newest version of AOO (Version 4.1.4) on my
Windows 10 desktop.  All seems fine except for the fact that all the 1st
level bullets in my lists appear as the numeral 10 inside a small black
circle.  Very funny but I prefer the old solid black circular bullet.
Would anyone have suggestions on how I might get them back?  Thanks in
advance -

Hi -

In order to not overload the infrastructure we wait a week or so to update the
check for updates version.

We are all volunteers here. Thanks for the prompt.

Dave

OpenOffice Database Question

2017-10-26 Thread Louis Daigle
How can I get a report to run from a querry?

Also, do I need to join a group or something like that?

Thanks

Louis

Re: OpenOffice Database Question

2017-10-26 Thread Girvin Herr

Louis,

The short answer is: you can't from OpenOffice. There is no Report
Generator bundled with OpenOffice. There used to be a Report Generator
extension, but that was not maintained and is no longer compatible with
the later OO versions. I keep LibreOffice installed to run my reports
because LO still has a bundled Report Generator. I use OpenOffice to do
everything else because I think OO is more stable.

I am not sure what you mean by "join a group", since "join" is a
database-word. If you mean to join database tables, that depends on your
database structure. If you mean to join a user's group, then that is
your choice. But if you do not join the user's group, you may not see
the responses to your questions.

The Oracle Report Builder is still working and can be downloaded here
.

4.1.4 and charts in spreadsheets

2017-10-26 Thread Mike

Hi,

since upgrading to 4.1.4 charts that I create from spreadsheet data (and
have been doing for years satisfactorily) are not saved with the
spreadsheet as was the case pre 4.1.4

This is more of an irritant than a problem, the charts are created as
useful visual summaries of data, and are easily recreated and then
copied into text documents.  Even so, ideas for a workaround would be
welcomed, pending correction of what I assume is a bug or oversight.

I use OSX 10.9.5 on a MacBook Pro.

Thanks

Mike Shearer

Hi Mike,

If you can share the document and the steps to reproduce the issue in the bug
reporting database - https://bz.apache.org/ooo/ that would be very helpful in
fixing this regression.

Thanks,
Dave

Electronic Signature

2017-10-26 Thread Art Curator
I was trying to register for the OpenOffice Forum, but it asked me for an
electronic signature. I have NO Experience with electronic signatures, and
know nothing about them. Per instructions elsewhere, I did go to File >
Electronic Signature, but all I got there is incomprehensible forms. (What
the hell is a "certificate"?)

Please help me get past "digital signature" so that I can participate in
