I don't know what that first value would mean as 0, but the second line
should be 'nothing'.

As I recall a change was made at request of Lenova to change the
sleep setting to get a better power rating of something. So, it has
system go to sleep!!! Don't know why they changed it for
everyone??

So, check the contents of /etc/systemd/sleep.conf
This is the contents of my sleep.conf and bold lines are the ones
added to stop sleep. Had 5 systems that ran BOINC and VNC, and
kept going to sleep after upgrade some time ago.

Sleeping

2025-02-18 Thread Patrick Dupre via users
Hello,

Does something change since the last update of fedora 40?

I have a laptop running applications from itself or/and from ssh.

Now it falls to sleep after a few minutes despite that I have

org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-ac-timeout 0
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-ac-type 'suspend'
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-battery-timeout 900
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-battery-type 'suspend'

Screen blank is set a 5 mn.

Do you have an explanaton?

Thanks.

As Michael said, a change to power management was made at Fedora 40.
See .

Michael also provided changes for systemd-sleep.conf(5). I prefer to
mask the services:

sudo systemctl mask sleep.target suspend.target hibernate.target
hybrid-sleep.target

You can also change the default target to multi-user, and that
disables sleep and hibernation. But it is a server setting, and the
target disables the desktop stuff:

systemctl set-default multi-user.target
