Hi,
Can anyone help explain the difference of primary storage modes-- sharepoint
and NFS?
thanks,

Kirks,
thanks a lot.
By the wa y, I use OCFS2/iSCSI as the clumster filesystem under Shared
Mountpoint mode.
I have a problem right now.
There are two hosts running ocfs2 and connecting to a signle storage server
with iSCSI. After I run about one day, one hosts hung up and all the VM on this
host stopped.
I suspected ocfs2 filesystem locked the host. I want to see the lock status of
ocfs2. How to do?

Hi, Robin. The NFS option should be used for NFS shares that are not
already mounted on the hosts. CloudStack will tell the hosts to mount
the NFS share you specify.

The Shared Mount Point option would be for a primary storage that is
already mounted on the hosts by the system administrator. Here is what
the docs [1] say about it:

difference of use ShareMount/OCFS2 and CLVM as primary storage of ClousdStack

2014-08-30 Thread ro...@cywee.com
Hi,
Could any one help explain the difference of use ShareMount/OCFS2 and CLVM as
primary storage for Cloudstack clusters?
For ShareMount/OCFS2 mode, when there has problem for OCFS2 on a host,
Cloudstack Manager does not know the situation and the VM on this host can not
be migrated to other host.
However, for CLVM mode, can the VM on the host be migrated to other host when
CLVM of the host has problem?

Best Regards,

cloudstack-management switch over fail

2014-09-18 Thread ro...@cywee.com
Hi,
In Cloudstack v4.2.1
There has two servers A, B. Both installed cloudstack-management service and
mysql individually. Server A work as mysql master, and B works as mysql slave.
step1: CS management service on A is running and management service on B shuts
down. Mysql on B keeps synchronized with A timely.
step2: Server A shutdown, means service of CS management and mysql on A
shutdown.
step3: CS management service on server B startup. But there has problem when
it is starting up.
   The log is:
"Error while decrypting:
sTe567ED+dHX6WiWJWa53KdBSXQ0neJhKqcDENu7aMWqD2Z1JkXhYBm/7dKlIDpVpT6JdgecZPQ4jMge5Ldtx

  Then, user can not loggin.

Hi, Geoff ,
Server B works as Master.
The 'host' in global configuration is a VIP and the VIP is set to
db.cloud.host(in db.properties) for both A and B.
But there is till problem with following log:
"2014-09-19 14:25:22,960 DEBUG [utils.crypt.DBEncryptionUtil] (Timer-2:null)
Error while decrypting: SmVGNRd3CmQeMUHog+iSuQ== "
I have one question for the cluster.node.IP in db.properties. What shoud it be?

Robin,

You need to make server B the new MySQL Master and also point CloudStack at the
new MySQL Server.

Also when using two Management Servers, you should have a load balancer which
is referenced by the global setting 'host'. If you do have this setup, you
will need to update the host setting to point to server B, then stop and start
(not simply restart) each system VM?
