Hi Bob,

In the old days of punch cards, the universities would charge
for the number of seconds it took for your computer program
to run! When many people finally had their own personal computers
that whole idea went out the window.

I remember those days (charge by runtime). We blew the civil engineering 
department’s annual computer budget on one poorly conceived analysis run. Ooops.
