[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1036830] [NEW] Xorg crash when logging in goes right back to log in screen
Public bug reported: On 8/13/2012 I updated ubuntu 12.10. Now when I try to log in the system flashes a black screen and then puts me back at the log in screen. Logging in as guest works. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1784161] [NEW] Mouse inoperative in other apps while Shotwell is uploading to Flickr
Public bug reported: I'm using Shotwell to Publish (ctrl+shift+P) photos to Flickr. Some of these uploads take quite a while, so I'd like to do other things while they're running. If I alt-tab over to Firefox or Slack or whatever, my mouse works normally, but if I alt-tab back to Shotwell to peek if the upload has completed yet, and then alt-tab over to another app again, now my mouse doesn't work. Pointer moves, yes. Doesn't produce mouse-over events, doesn't click, doesn't scroll. As soon as the upload completes in Shotwell, the mouse works normally again. I popped into freenode/#ubuntu IRC and they suggested trying Wayland. This behavior does not occur in Wayland, so it was suggested that I report it here under xorg. Adding some detail here: Switching back to xorg reproduces the bug 100%. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
@Seth E6520.. seems to work fairly well so far, only thing I'm noticing is that it seems to be much more sensitive - IE, if I am holding my finger "still" on the touchpad, the pointer twitches around, which it didn't with the psmouse driver. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1020893] Re: can not login X, it crash
If you need GUI add my Programs PPA (https://launchpad.net/~n-muench/+archive/programs-ppa/+packages) to your Quantal machine. It should be close enough to what will be eventually put into Quantal. I moved it from the Testing repo to this one so it doesn't also install my work-in-progress update of open-vm-tools. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-vmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1020893 Title: can not login X, it crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-vmware/+bug/1020893/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
