[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1080350]

2012-11-29 Thread Schmankerl
Same situation on my Lenovo T500 Notebook with the following card:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV635
[Mobility Radeon HD 3650]
If my Notebook is in IDLE-state the temperature stays about 75° and I hear the
noise of the fan nearly all the time. Heavy load increases temp to over 90° and
it will shutdown due to the overheating limits of kernel.
My workaround is switching to intel hd graphics in bios because setting power
profile to low seems to be slower than using the integrated graphics adapter.
Thats obviously no real solution because I want to use the full power of the
ati graphics card without switching to fglrx driver.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1098061] Re: [gm45] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x60020100

2013-02-18 Thread Schmankerl
I get that freeze everytime while playing halflife for some minutes on
native steam client. It locks the xserver therefore I have to switch to
an other terminal (Strg+Alt+Fx) to reboot the system. In this case
AltGr+Print+K has no effect to kill the xserver.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 314600] Re: [HD 3650] fglrx versions newer than 8.543 cause system hang and panic

2010-04-03 Thread Schmankerl
Sorry, wrong and outdated xorg.conf.

Last time I got:

(II) LoadModule: "fglrx"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module fglrx
(II) UnloadModule: "fglrx"
(EE) Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.

I installed fglrx and could modprobe fglrx manually but not with
xorg.conf

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 314600] Re: [HD 3650] fglrx versions newer than 8.543 cause system hang and panic

2010-04-07 Thread Schmankerl
In bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554191 xorg is loading fglrx, but
in my case its impossible to load that module (see #61). I tried
installing driver via jockey again, but it doesn't recognize my 'ati
mobility hd3650' anymore.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 429295] Re: OSD showing corruption on ATI graphics

2009-09-29 Thread Schmankerl
I have same bug on my ibm t42 ati mobility 7500 32MB. Therefore i opened
#437117 bugreport, which is a duplicate of this bug.
It only appears with ati renderacceleration XAA not EXA. I use XAA because it
has more performance with karmic koala...

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 752157] Re: [RS880] graphical corruption in launcher (Solid grey rectangles over icon text and window borders)

2011-05-19 Thread Schmankerl
Same on ATI Mobility HD3650 with open source radeon driver. White
stripes appears sometimes near the ubuntu lauchner icon and other
icons... and sometimes the complete top panel is nearly white instead of
dark gray (black). In a few cases my unity did not start up and I had to
shutdown via power button. I don`t want to use fglrx driver :-(

thats only a temporary solution until reboot. maybe it has to be fixed
in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics driver or udev settings.

my solution: reinstall complete system and now it works fine. if you are
using developer ubuntu you should reinstall after final. windows
starting with minimal delay but I think thats normal.
