[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1080350]
Same situation on my Lenovo T500 Notebook with the following card: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV635 [Mobility Radeon HD 3650] If my Notebook is in IDLE-state the temperature stays about 75° and I hear the noise of the fan nearly all the time. Heavy load increases temp to over 90° and it will shutdown due to the overheating limits of kernel. My workaround is switching to intel hd graphics in bios because setting power profile to low seems to be slower than using the integrated graphics adapter. Thats obviously no real solution because I want to use the full power of the ati graphics card without switching to fglrx driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080350 Title: Overheating AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M500 ATI RV710Mobility Radeon HD 4300 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-driver-ati/+bug/1080350/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1098061] Re: [gm45] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x60020100
I get that freeze everytime while playing halflife for some minutes on native steam client. It locks the xserver therefore I have to switch to an other terminal (Strg+Alt+Fx) to reboot the system. In this case AltGr+Print+K has no effect to kill the xserver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1098061 Title: [gm45] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x60020100 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1098061/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

In bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554191 xorg is loading fglrx, but in my case its impossible to load that module (see #61). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 752157] Re: [RS880] graphical corruption in launcher (Solid grey rectangles over icon text and window borders)
Same on ATI Mobility HD3650 with open source radeon driver. White stripes appears sometimes near the ubuntu lauchner icon and other icons... and sometimes the complete top panel is nearly white instead of dark gray (black). my solution: reinstall complete system and now it works fine. if you are using developer ubuntu you should reinstall after final. windows starting with minimal delay but I think thats normal. -- [HD 3650] fglrx versions newer than 8.543 cause system hang and panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
