[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 522554] Re: Logged out when typing @

2010-02-17 Thread Ramon Rocha
I also encountered this bug in Lucid. It appears to consistently happen
for me when hitting the number 2 key on the keyboard.

Moreover, when two monitors are connected, instead of my session ending
and getting returned to the login screen, both of my monitors shutoff
and the keyboard becomes unresponsive.

Martin, before doing the logout/login workaround, do you see graphical
corruption at the top of your screen that gets worse the more you type?

It may be the same bug. I had autologin enabled so it bypassed the
initial password prompt in my case.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 527428] [NEW] There is no way to rotate a display using nvidia proprietary drivers

2010-02-24 Thread Ramon Rocha
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

For rotation testing of the NVIDIA proprietary drivers, the test case is
as follows:

Rotation
Case ID: xpr-004
1. Test rotation using xrandr --output $OUTPUT --rotate
Expected failure on -nvidia: use the nvidia GUI config tool for this instead

However, the nvidia GUI config tool has no option to rotate the display.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 522328] Re: Lucid upgrade broke nvidia proprietary drivers

2010-02-25 Thread Ramon Rocha
Federico, you're English was correct. My interpretation of "Manual
Install" for this test scenario was...

1. Go to nvidia's website
2. Download their installation script for Linux graphics drivers
3. Stop X/gdm
4. Run their script

The expected results as defined in the test case did not match the
actual results.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 529563] Re: Lucid Alpha3 live cd failing to boot properly, monitor powers off during boot.

2010-03-09 Thread Ramon Rocha
With a single monitor connected, the behavior is as described in this
bug.

With two monitors connected, instead of going into power saving mode, my
monitors remains active. However, after a few minutes, the splash
screen animation freezes and I never get to the installation screen.

This was with the Mar. 8 build.

2010-03-10 Thread Ramon Rocha
I tested with the 3/10 image and it no longer turns off the monitor or
freezes at the splash screen. I am still frozen at this screen though:
