[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1927514] Re: [HP Pavilion 15] Keyboard does not work immediately on Ubuntu login page
apport information ** Tags added: ubuntu ** Description changed: I have a problem with logging into Ubuntu, i.e. in the login window I cannot enter the password for 10-20 seconds (most often with a cold start) the keyboard does not work (laptop keyboard). After several seconds, the keyboard starts and I can enter the password. I tested on "clean" versions of Ubuntu 20.04.2.0 LTS, 20.10 (also with Kernel 5.10), 21.04. The problem occurs on the HP Pavilion 15-eg0016nw laptop with an Intel Core i7-1135G7 processor (also occurs on the HP Pavilion 15-eg0073cl with Intel Core i7-1165G7). During normal operation, the keyboard works without any problems - the problem is only when logging into the system. I am using the latest BIOS version (F.12), but I have also used older versions: F.5 and F.11. Another user with the HP Pavilion 15-eg0073cl laptop (a very similar laptop model) has the same problem: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1323751/10-15-second-keyboard-unrecognized-issue Link to question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/696945 --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu65 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DisplayManager: gdm3 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-05-05 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Release amd64 (20210420) Package: gnome-shell 3.38.4-1ubuntu2 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-16.17-generic 5.11.12 RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 3.38.4-1ubuntu2 Tags: hirsute wayland-session Uname: Linux 5.11.0-16-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu65 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: michal 1233 F pulseaudio + BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Brak dostępu: '/var/log/boot.log' + CasperMD5CheckResult: pass + CompositorRunning: None + CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME + DistUpgraded: Fresh install + DistroCodename: hirsute + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.04 + DistroVariant: ubuntu + GraphicsCard: + Intel Corporation TigerLake GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics] [8086:9a49] (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) +Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Iris Xe Graphics [103c:87cb] + InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-05-05 (1 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Release amd64 (20210420) + MachineType: HP HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0xxx + Package: mutter + ProcFB: 0 i915drmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.11.0-16-generic root=UUID=099f96a8-17a6-476f-bb8e-1922bdfb7838 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-16.17-generic 5.11.12 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-5.11.0-16-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-5.11.0-16-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.197 + Tags: hirsute wayland-session ubuntu wayland-session + Uname: Linux 5.11.0-16-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True + dmi.bios.date: 03/17/2021 + dmi.bios.release: 15.12 + dmi.bios.vendor: Insyde + dmi.bios.version: F.12 + dmi.board.asset.tag: Type2 - Board Asset Tag + dmi.board.name: 87CB + dmi.board.vendor: HP + dmi.board.version: 34.27 + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Chassis Asset Tag + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: HP + dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version + dmi.ec.firmware.release: 34.27 + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnInsyde:bvrF.12:bd03/17/2021:br15.12:efr34.27:svnHP:pnHPPavilionLaptop15-eg0xxx:pvrType1ProductConfigId:rvnHP:rn87CB:rvr34.27:cvnHP:ct10:cvrChassisVersion: + dmi.product.family: 103C_5335KV HP Pavilion + dmi.product.name: HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0xxx + dmi.product.sku: 2Q1C0EA#AKD + dmi.product.version: Type1ProductConfigId + dmi.sys.vendor: HP + version.compiz: compiz N/A + version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.104-1build1 + version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 21.0.1-2 + version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx N/A + version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.20.11-1ubuntu1 + version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev N/A + version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:19.1.0-2 + version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20200714-1ubuntu1 + version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.17-1 ** Attachment added: "AlsaInfo.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927514/+attachment/5495411/+files/AlsaInfo.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libinput in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927514 Title: [HP Pavilion 15] Keyboard does not work immediately on Ubuntu login pa

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 569838] [NEW] huge memory leak using radeon os driver when KMS is disabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libdrm-radeon1 Hi, When I disable KMS Xorg's memory usage raises up to 165MB! It usually doesn't get lower after closing running applications. I suppose it can be memory leak in the libdrm-radeon1 package, because when I enable KMS (so libdrm2 is used) Xorg memory usage is normal - less then 50MB and it gets lower when I close running applications. I have a Radeon X1600XT card and I am using Kubuntu Lucid and have Kwin effects enabled. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1742756] Re: [Xubuntu] 3/4 of XFCE and console screen is unreadable
** Description changed: After upgrading to kernel 4.13.0-26-generic "3/4" part of screen is unreadable. It is both in xorg/xfce and console (ctrl+alt+F1). Everything works perfect when I reboot my laptop with older 4.10.0-42-generic kernel. I'm not sure whether it is Xorg bug or kernel graphics driver bug. The unvisible 3/4 part of the screen seems to be fully operational. I may open an application window in it and drag it to the visible 1/4 part of the screen. Besides the screen display issue the system seems to run properly. I was able to report this bug while - running the 4.13.0-26-generic kernel. + running the 4.13.0-26-generic kernel. Timo - would it not be possible to put this driver in universe, as a service for users who still have this chip? Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 741930] Re: [natty] nvidia binary packages for older cards - dependencies not met
I'd say a simpler but still useful thing would be to make sure that if some hardware isn't compatible at the time of release because a proprietary driver is required (and that's the situation here - Unity doesn't work on Nouveau), then a big, red note of that should be made in the "release notes" prompt encouraging for upgrade, so that people can wait until Nvidia or any other vendor provides updated driver. Alternatively, the upgrading script should warn user about such incompatibilities at the start of the process, allowing them to easily cancel. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 580984] Re: Running firefox causes problem with screen refreshing
I've went through some information from: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15626 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14801 and kernel parameter pci=nomsi does not help but kernel parameter radeon.modeset=0 does help. So it looks like KMS does not work well with my card. ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #15626 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15626 ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #14801 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14801 -- Running firefox causes problem with screen refreshing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580984 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
