[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 462921] [NEW] OpenGL problems on "Samsung Q25 Ruby" Notebook with i945GM graphics with Ubuntu 9.10
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Hello, I had problems with 3D graphics since the upgrade to ubuntu 8.10 on my "Samsung Q25 Ruby" Notebook with i945GM. Now using the new Ubuntu 9.10 RC and some problems seem to be fixed. For example, when I run a 3D application with Ubuntu 8.10, 3/4 of the screen are black/white, this doesnt happen now. But Celestia is still much slower than before and than under windows, Stellarium looks a bit strange when I enable compiz. SuperTux is stuttering a bit. (It was much stranger when I started it with the onboard sound card enabled unter Ubuntu 9.04, normaly I m using a PCMCIA card from Creative. It doesnt have any effect now with 9.10 when I switch the card.) Any Flash video, from youtube or somewhere else is stuttering and it doesnt matter if it is maximized or not. Only Stellarium seems to be effected by enabled compiz, all other problems are also happening with disabled compiz. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 469475] [NEW] 3 Screens with 2 NVIDIA graphics cards and Ubuntu
Public bug reported: Since I had a NVIDIA GeForce 2 I m using two or more screens with my PC. Some years ago I switched to Ubuntu and hoped the twinview problems will go away by time. But nothing happened and now I m reporting them as a bug. I user 2 graphics cards in my PC, a GeForce 8600GT and a 7600GT. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4, the processor a AMD Athlon X2 5200+ EE. The 8600GT is the primary card on the upper PCIe slot. I m running Ubuntu Karmic Koala now. It would be perfect to use all 3 screens together as one big screen with 3D support and windows maximize on the screen they are on. Ok this is not possible in Linux now, Twinview works only on one card and Xinerama doesnt have 3D support. So it would be also fine for me if the two screens on the first card work in twinview together and the 3. screen on the second card works as an own XServer. This is possible for long time now and I am happy about, but windows dont maximize like i want them to do if I activate all 3 screens. When I use my Twinview + 1 screen configuration, the primary screen settings will be ignored, the panels are on both screens and windows maximize over both. Also flash videos are on both screens. When I use Twinview on the first card alone, the windows maximazie like I want, but youtube/flash fullscreen videos open allways on the left screen. Fullscreen applications appear mostly on the left screen, anyway I set the right one as primary. When they appear on the right screen, I see only one half of the application. As I read in some threads I m not the only person with this problem, but I didnt find it here. I feel a bit despaired about this problem.
