[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 328856] Re: fglrx 8.573 (9.1) DKMS fail with 2.6.24-23rt(x86_64) Kernel

2009-06-21 Thread Mark Falcey
Good news!!!
Catalyst 9.6 installed and is now working with the 2.6.24 rt kernel on Hardy
Heron 8.04.2 amd64 UbuntuStudio. The only problem I encountered was the need
to disable randr to get my big desktop working.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 413892] Re: [ubuntu studio karmic-alpha 4] 100% cpu usage

2009-11-17 Thread Mark Falcey
FYI, this seems to be fixed in the 2.6.31-9rt kernel. fglrx builds
properly now. I am using a stock clean Karmic amd64 release install
fully updated with the following metapackages installed on top.

linux-rt
ubuntustudio-audio
ubuntustudio-audio-plugins
ubuntustudio-desktop

I have not tried xinerama yet on this install so.but fglrx does seem
to be working properly otherwise.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 413892] Re: [ubuntu studio karmic-alpha 4] 100% cpu usage

2009-10-12 Thread Mark Falcey
I just tried the 2.6.31-8.10 rt kernel with fglrx and the kernel module
build fails. This is from the terminal when installing the kernel
headers. This is a clean stock karmic beta install fully updated to
today with fglrx already installed on the generic kernel. The rt kernel
gave me a short "unable to install module" message when it was
installing. When I installed the kernel headers a little while later I
got this

I also tried building from /usr/src/fglrx-8.660 and have attached the

I can also give you excepts from the Xorg.0.log which has a few interesting

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 159941] Re: fglrx driver does not work in RT kernel

2009-10-16 Thread Mark Falcey
I can confirm that the rt_preempt_31.patch is working with the
2.6.31-8rt kernel as of the latest updates.

I used Hardware Manger to remove and reactivate fglrx to get the DKMS
kernel modules to build properly. Running usr/src/fgrlx-8.660/ make.sh
failed with errors. I have the make.sh.log if anyone would care to look
at it.

This is the first rt kernel since hardy that boots on my hardware and
now with fglrx this is a good day.

Thank you all for the hard work.

regards,
mark
