[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1945203] [NEW] Wayland: Useage of touchscreen on dock freezes the dock
Public bug reported: General information: Ubuntu 21.04 X-Wayland Device: Dell XPS13 2-in-1 When using the touchscreen to start or switch between apps in the dock, the dock freezes after 1-5 events. A tooltip is shown permanently and the dock is no longer responsive and can't be used for app switching anymore. The top menu bar with wifi and bt settings etc. is also frozen. This problem only occurs with Xwayland, not with classic X. And only touch events trigger the freeze. Other input devices such as the touchpad, the digitizer or an external mouse do not trigger this problem. Workaround: Alt+Tab is not affected and can still be used for app switching, but it sucks if the device is in tablet mode. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1945227] [NEW] drm/amdgpu: Add support for Yellow Carp
Public bug reported: [Impact] New hardware support for AMD's Yellow Carp need five commits backported to mesa and new firmware. This is only needed on focal, skipping hirsute/impish (no kernel support there). [Test plan] Install updates, boot a YC machine and check that the desktop has full hardware acceleration. [Where problems could occur] The firmware is new, so it will simply add new files to l-f without any impact on others. Mesa adds five commits in total, and while some affect other chips, they mostly fix hw bugs or add a helper and such, hard to see what could go wrong. ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mesa (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1945227 Title: drm/amdgpu: Add support for Yellow Carp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1945227/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1944951] Re: delayed display update / konsole artifacts
It looks that I'm struck by the same bug. For me all KDE applications show display problems, not only just konsole. But konsole is the one that's used most often. After you have "fixed" you installation now, could you please turn off the composite manager. Just use Shift-Alt-F12 for that. I do not get any display errors here as long as the composite manager runs.
