Still not upstream? We'll have kernel 5.4 in 20.04, and likely won't be backporting big patchsets like this for it. Sounds like these would have to wait for the 20.04.2 HWE update in early 2021.. That certainly looks HDR related. But if Ubuntu is to be able to use HDR then gnome-shell/mutter first should enable use of a deep colour framebuffer. I am experiencing this after upgrading to 19.10 and enabling fractional scaling on wayland.
