A power cycle is the only way out. Simply creating a 4.5 context will not trigger the bug, haven't been able to fully test what causes the hang specifically as accessible tools I've found are not compatible with mesa due to only creating a default context (which is currently 3.0), thus crashing on init. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1689408 Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1689408/comments/6 On 2017-05-11T02:54:48+00:00 Michel Dänzer wrote: Please attach the output of glxinfo and dmesg and the Xorg log file. Now it works again. Had switched off external screen in display devices settings after bug appeared. Switching it on again today did the job. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788991 Title: external screen blank To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1788991/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1790244] [NEW] Ubuntu dots won't stop appearing/blank screen when unsuspending
Public bug reported: I have two persistent problems that I haven't been able to resolve with Ubuntu 18.04: 1) the Ubuntu splash screen "dots" that turn white then red then white again don't stop appearing after I've booted up and even after I logged in. They keep appearing as I try to do stuff. They don't seem to stop anything from working, but they sure are annoying. 2) when I unsuspend my computer, it wakes up based on the disk etc. LEDs but the monitor screen remains black. I know my machine supports suspend because it worked under 16.04. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 626321]
It's XF86VidModeSwitchToMode() that is used to change X resolution, right? I wonder, where is it declared? Grepping through xserver sources gives only this print DEBUG_P("XF86VidModeSwitchToMode");, no declaration. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626321 Title: X.org server should keep track of and restore its initial (desktop) resolution and refresh rate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wine/+bug/626321/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
