[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics
@saurav1: Only tested the script on freshly installed Xubuntu 16.04. The screen doesn't get relocked on my computer. Maybe it's a race condition and setting "Delay after locking screen saver for" in "XFCE Power Manager" under the "Security" tab to a higher value helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568604 Title: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/1568604/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1580949] [NEW] Trusty: 1024x768 resolution not available to connect to Cisco KVM
Public bug reported: 1024x768 resolution is not available by default in Ubuntu Trusty when connecting to Cisco KVM. It works fine with RHEL 6.5 (xorg-xserver x1.13.0) and SLES 11.4 (xorg-xserver v1.6.5). The workaround to enable display in Ubuntu Trusty is: 1. Stop lightdm (service lightdm stop) 2. Generate an xorg.conf file. Item #54 you need to add -> Modes "1024x768" (will attach screenshot in comments) 3. Copy the file to /etc 4. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics
@unrud: Your hunch was right. Increasing the delay (even to 2 seconds is enough) resolves the issue. Even on your fresh installation, do check if it works correctly with suspend/hibernate as well when the delay is not more than one second. I have gone back to gnome-screensaver for the time being, however, because my Wi-Fi keeps going off after resuming from more than one consecutive (with no intervening normal reboot) suspend/hibernate states with light-locker (I don't know why).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1551028] Re: glGenFramebuffers fails when linked with OSMesa AND X11
I think this bug is due to the change in the mesa package to build osmesa without using the shared glapi. I have seen similar errors using libosmesa6 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.6, when a program is linked with both libGL and libOSMesa. If the libosmesa6 packages are downgraded to 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.4, the errors disappear. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1551028] Re: glGenFramebuffers fails when linked with OSMesa AND X11
Just for completeness, since this bug report only mentions Ubuntu release numbers, the working version of libosmesa6 in 14.04.3 is 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.4, the version that fails in 14.04.4 is 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.6. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1551028] Re: glGenFramebuffers fails when linked with OSMesa AND X11
Right, so is there anything we can do to build OSMesa for 14.04.x users to resolve this? Or do we say sorry, don't mix OSMesa with OpenGL, hopefully it will be better in the next LTS? IOW do you see this moving towards "In Progress" or "Won't Fix"? I completely understand the reasoning in bug #1424059, and maybe there is no other way to resolve this in trusty without apt/dpkg versioned Provides. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1581270] Re: Hybrid Graphics: [drm:si_resume [radeon]] *ERROR* si startup failed on resume
** Description changed: dmesg shows issues with being able to use the discrete graphics card (relevant dmesg lines attached). - Grub does pass "radeon.modeset=1" and "radeon.startpm=1" to the kernel. - I've tried all combinations and same results occur. + Grub does pass "radeon.modeset=1" but it doesn't seem to make a + difference. If I pass both "radeon.modeset=1" and "radeon.startpm=1"to + the kernel, then it does not error (except for the VCE error -110, which + is probably harmless). + + Running `DRI_PRIME=1 glxgears`: + - with "radeon.modeset=1" and "radeon.startpm=1", no error but only a black window with a visible top bar. + - with just "radeon.modeset=1", error (attached as 'glxgears'). + + Results are similar on Ubuntu GNOME 16.04, except with + "radeon.modeset=1" and "radeon.startpm=1" set. It works, but lots of + screen tearing. Attached are relevant dmesg lines, grep'd with 'drm'. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1581277] [NEW] fglrx failed to upgrade
Public bug reported: I was running apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade on a friend's ubuntu system (Trusty). The system had not been updated in a long time, so the list of packages to be downloaded was huge (~500MB for updates and ~300MB for upgrades) and due to a slow internet connection, I had left it overnight to download. The updates were over by the time I slept, the upgrades had been downloaded by the time I woke up. When I woke up, the setup was stuck on various fglrx configuration files on the system which it determined had been changed, and wanted to know whether to keep the original files or update with new ones. I chose to keep the original files. Mid-way through the installation, apport popped up saying an error had occured. The script in the terminal went on running, but once I clicked on "Report Problem..." on the apport window, the script displayed an error regarding fglrx (but continued running till the end, after which it said "errors were encountered while processing: fglrx" and then stopped).
