Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1506272] Re: Missing fonts and flickering font rendering
Hi Christian, I will do it but only on next friday, I'm away from home for the next days (I am an airline captain). In mean time, I foresee we will have the release of Wily with this problem? This will affect many nvidia users when booting in live mode, this is bad for *buntu distros. I tested ubuntu mate, xubuntu and kubuntu, all have the same problem, did not Ubuntu though... Thank you for replying. Regards Sergio On Sat, Oct 17, 2015 at 11:36 PM, Christopher M. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1247736] Re: [SRU] nvidia-opencl-icd-* should not conflicts/replaces on opencl-icd
@shacharm: This is the expected behaviour: > The following packages will be REMOVED: > nvidia-libopencl1-346 > The following NEW packages will be installed: > ocl-icd-libopencl1 You can only have one OpenCL ICD Loader installed on your system, so removing nvidia-libopencl1-346 when installing ocl-icd-libopencl1 is the correct course of action. You can however, have multiple OpenCL ICDs installed (e.g. nvidia-opencl-icd-346). When this bug was present, it prevented nvidia-opencl-icd-* from being installed alongside ocl-icd-libopencl1. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1501421] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 displays strange characters
Skippy le Grand Gourou, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder)? Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . This will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, Y, and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version. If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1507346] [NEW] Back light off after sleep mode
Public bug reported: Hi all, I would like to report that the back light of the display doesn't come back on after the computer has been in sleep or display off mode. It initially came back on to allow me to unlock the account / log back in, then it turned off and stayed like that. trevor, to clarify https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1503343/comments/2 , if you have had a virus, even if it has since been removed, and you then are having problems, this would be due to to fallout from that, versus a bug in Ubuntu. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1503726] Re: no idea
roy, thank you for taking the time to report this and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, this report didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs . We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. The behavior you expected, and 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1504742] Re: touch screen scroll
Jaime Pérez, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. The behavior you mentioned is confirmed. For example, with a Windows 8.1 tablet, a one finger touch+hold+move gesture at any point in the window scrolls the screen around. But, with Ubuntu, the only way to scroll the screen is touch+hold+move where the scrollbar is. Hence, this would appear not a bug in Ubuntu, in that it was already designed to do what you expected, and it doesn't. What it appears to be instead is a "feature parity expectation" issue with the driver, that would be known about, and actively worked on upstream. However, could you please post the results of the following terminal command: usb-devices ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1504742 Title: touch screen scroll To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1504742/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1504772] Re: laptop is not awakening
ivan, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1111884]
What's the status of this bug. The last activity is from a year ago on November 2014. I think I'm affected by this bug. I filed this bug report at Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1378881 Which was marked as a duplicate of this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/884 My desktop is unusable. I know your all busy with life, but a little reassurance that this is going to get fixed would be appreciated. Thanks, Nate. P.S. And if I can help out anyway I will. I used to build from source years ago before Git came around, but I could learn fast on how to apply patches from source if necessary if you teach me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/884 Title: 10de:0611 nouveau fails at suspend/resume - PAGE_NOT_PRESENT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/884/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1506729] Re: USB-Mouse not working
Kathi, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1507461] [NEW] Xorg crash, unable to submit crash log
Public bug reported: Three times in the past few weeks (sometime around the wily beta freeze) Xorg has crashed fully, returning to a text console without respawning. After a reboot, apport reports: The problem cannot be reported: The problem report is damaged and cannot be processed. OSError('Invalid core dump: BFD: Warning: /tmp/apport_core_aiu21o8t is truncated: expected core file size >= 698322944, found: 275841024.',) The last two crashes have occurred when playing full screen video in Chrome or Chromium and pressing Esc to return to in-window display, however, it is not reliably reproducible - immediately visiting the same site, playing the same video, and pressing Esc works as expected. Example URL for the above: http://www.nrl.com/gf-broncos-v-cowboys- hls/tabid/10959/tab/2/contentid/794707/default.aspx The next time it occurs, I'll try the technique described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting#Reporting_Bugs_from_a_Different_Machine to see if the crash data can be saved before rebooting while X is down.
