[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 365952]

2015-08-12 Thread Peter Hutterer
closing this again, was pushed as outlined in comment #27 and that
behaviour has been unchanged for 6 years now. if you still want the
extra finger counting please open a new bug but I should point out that
it's unlikely to be implement for synaptics. libinput has that feature
already, probably better to use that then.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1484013] [NEW] Ubuntu 15.04: Mouse cursor goes out of control on touchpad right click

2015-08-12 Thread pramathesh ambasta
Public bug reported:

This has been a persistent problem. If I use the right click button on
my notebook (HP Probook 430) touch pad the mouse cursor goes out of
control. I cannot direct it using the touch pad. It shakes and moves on
its own accord.

Only option left is to reboot because logging out and logging back in
does not solve the problem. Renders the touchpad and the notebook
unusable

Does not happen with left click though. I have disabled all touch pad
enhancements (such as tap to click etc.) but hasn't worked.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1484045] [NEW] Version of xorg reported on lauchpad does not match wath is installed with 14.04.03 LTS

2015-08-12 Thread tititou
Public bug reported:

Unless, I miss understand information available at
 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server
xorg should be in the 1.15.1 serie for The Trusty Tahr.

However on a brand new installation of 14.04.03, it is reported to be
1.17.1

This is an issue for us because for some reason we have to run Ubuntu on
a 4.3.8 VirtualBox VM and this version supports Xorg up to 1.15

Do I miss understand lauchpad? Is it not up-to-date? Is there a way to install
1.15.1 afterwards?

thanks in advance

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1484045] Re: Version of xorg reported on lauchpad does not match wath is installed with 14.04.03 LTS

2015-08-12 Thread Robert Hooker
They point release media installs a backport of the graphics stack from
newer releases so they work on newer devices
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server-lts-vivid being used
in 14.04.3), to go back to the 14.04.1 version just install xserver-
xorg-lts-trusty or use 14.04.1 install media. It's safe to update after
using the 14.04.1 media as it wont automatically upgrade the graphics
stack.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1484226] [NEW] Wily after log in wallpaper hashed

2015-08-12 Thread jerrylamos
Public bug reported:

DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu Wily Werewolf (development branch)"
Linux Lenovo2 4.1.0-3-generic #3-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 28 12:25:10 UTC 2015 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

As of .iso daily live fresh install yesterday,

Boots to correct wallpaper.

Log in, screen flashes must be some kind of xorg reset, and then
wallpaper hashed.

gsettings no longer works:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri
'file:home/jerry/Pictures/Shark_Island.jpg'

Doesn't do anything. Used to reset wallpaper.

Have to go to System Settings > Appearance > Wallpapers > Picture Folder
select the jpg and it works. May have to do it a couple times.

Why is wallpaper just fine on boot, then after log in gets screwed up?

Thanks for any ideas.

2015-08-12 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Public bug reported:

### WIP ###

Mesa 11.0.0 will be released as follows:

August 21st 2015 - Feature freeze/Release candidate 1
August 28th 2015 - Release candidate 2
September 04th 2015 - Release candidate 3
September 11th 2015 - Release candidate 4/Mesa 11.0.0

- support for OpenGL 4.2 in core mesa
.
.
.

[Packaging status]
- snapshots pushed to debian git
- packaging updated when necessary
- builds & works

[Plan for testing]
- a snapshot will be uploaded to debian-experimental and canonical-x/x-staging
ppa, call-for-testing sent once it's available
- piglit runs on most common hw (intel, radeon, nouveau)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1483972] Re: fglrx-core 2:15.200-0ubuntu0.4: fglrx-core kernel module failed to build

2015-08-12 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
