[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1084960] [NEW] Resume from Standby mode doesn't work with Nouveau on Geforce GT430
Public bug reported: Hello, if I'm using the Nouveau driver with my graphics board (Geforce GT430), standby mode (a.k.a. suspend-to-ram) does not work. Going into standby mode itself works, but when I turn my PC back on, the monitor shows just a kind of colorful "noise" with the usual mouse cursor (the cursor itself is displayed properly). Sometimes it's possible to move the cursor a bit, but the system can't be used anymore and has to rebooted with the Alt+Print+b keycombo. This also happens on Quantal when I use the Nouveau driver. With the propritary Nvidia driver, standby mode works fine. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1085168] [NEW] 16 Bit colours / Banding on Intel HD4000
Public bug reported: On my Asus Zenbook UX32V (Intel HD4000) I experience 16bit colours/banding on the internal LCD panel. The external monitor works fine (no banding is to be seen). This happens on at least: linux-image-3.5.0-19-generic linux-image-3.5.0-18-generic linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic and not on linux-image-3.5.0-10-generic Others were not tested as I reinstalled my system. This issue might be related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1085166 in some way as they started occuring at the same time (This sounds vague, and it indeed is as I only noticed after doing some more kernel updates, so I am not sure where this issue came up) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-19.30-generic 3.5.7 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-19-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu6 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Fri Nov 30 20:07:45 2012 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: quantal DistroVariant: ubuntu EcryptfsInUse: Yes ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1085262] [NEW] whole computer freezes and logs out (see attached picture)
Public bug reported: After several re-installs of 12.10 I have gotten this crash several times over. Everything seems to be working fine then it all slows down to a halt, then I hear the log out sound and I get this on my screen (see picture) nothing responds and I am forced to restart. Its been the same 3 or four times completely by surprise. Half the screen is what I was working on, and the other half is a scrambled version of the log in screen. I am starting to suspect its my graphics card (GT218 [GeForce 210]) which has been working fine until 12.10, but I'm not sure. I don't have the know how to track this bug, if I knew how to track what the system is doing in the background I could be more helpfull. But this is all I got. Thanks in advanced! [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 774938] Re: Erratic cursor movement when using "Coordinate Transformation Matrix"

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1005321] Re: Several pointing device related problems occur when a touchscreen is installed
The solution for the CTM problem (which is what causes the wacky cursor jumping) is this patch, which was accepted into upstream on 19 Nov 2012; it is not yet in quantal-proposed, but I was able to rebuild xorg- server-1.13.0 (from 12.10) with this patch and the problem went away: http://www.mail-archive.com/xorg-devel@lists.x.org/msg33742.html There is another version of the patch floating around somewhere if you want to fix 12.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005321 Title: Several pointing device related problems occur when a touchscreen is installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1005321/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1085280] Re: bugs
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1085280 Title: bugs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1085280/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1085338] [NEW] One pixel column that belongs in one monitor shows up in the other instead
Public bug reported: I have configured the laptop screen in the left and a external monitor in the right. On the left most part of the monitor, I can see 1 column of pixels that belong to the content that is in the right most part of the laptop. Strangely, it does not show up when I try to do a screenshot, but is quite evident when watching a fullscreen movie in the monitor, for example.
