[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 977804] Re: Unity crashes when many windows are opened (intel_do_flush_locked failed: No space left on device)
I'm also getting this crash with the latest unity and all updates as of 2012-06-11. I can force this crash by opening nautilus and pressing Control-N 20 times to open 20 nautilus windows. The next time I press Alt-Tab or Super-W I will get the crash. By opening 20 nautilus windows I can also crash Gnome-Shell, so I think this is definitly a graphics driver issue :-(. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/977804 Title: Unity crashes when many windows are opened (intel_do_flush_locked failed: No space left on device) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/977804/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 977804] Re: Unity crashes when many windows are opened (intel_do_flush_locked failed: No space left on device)
I can reconfirm that opening a lot of nautilus windows and then clicking on it's switcher seems to trigger the bug quite well. While i'm running a single display setup for the last week, i noticed that this bug seems clearly resolution dependent, as when i run 1280x800 on LVDS it's much less present than when running 1680x1050 on external VGA.

Hi everybody, I'm affected by this bug but I think the problem it's not related to the graphics drivers. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 930807] Re: [gm45] Intel GPU X4500 "hung", screen corruption without total freeze
apport information ** Description changed: Hi, just experienced the second (partial) crash of my graphics subsystem, this time I'm able to report it instead of rebooting the machine, as the remaining functionality is much greater this time... Yesterday it happened within rssowl, scrolling down to an embedded gif animation; this time it was just random surfing the web with firefox, reading news at a hardware magazine. Screen goes blank for a moment, afterwards characters go invisible or form blocks and special chars, title bars of windows go black and buttons become unreadable (however, stay functional). Within an already opened vmware machine, the mouse pointer is just a rectangular mess of colorful pixels and some milder screen corruption happens. Restarting applications does not fully recover the state (but it "cures" over time). Some applications are affected much stronger than others, rekonq (why do I have to report bugs with rekonq?!) offers now full functionality, while content in firefox was nearly unreadable. Will append photos if it occurs next time, as there are no real artifacts left that would describe the initial problem. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1011732] Re: External display blinks off periodically
If this re-appears with the new connector, could you please run the command “echo 0x4 | sudo tee /sys/module/drm/parameters/debug”, wait for a couple of blanks, and then run “dmesg > monitor-blank.dmesg”. The monitor-blank.dmesg file will then have some extra debugging details about modesetting, which should capture what's going wrong. You can then attach that file to this bug, and we'll see what's happening. If the other connector works fine in a different operating system, like OS X or Windows, then we'd also be interested in the debugging output for the possibly-bad connector; we might be failing to negotiate a sufficiently paranoid mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1011732 Title: External display blinks off periodically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1011732/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
