I've never deleted any of the list's messages, they're all archived away on Google's servers. If I'd seen the request a bit sooner, I could have reposted... I really appreciate it. I am at a loss here, the more things that happen with this laptop, the worse it gets. I am beginning to wonder if it might be an idea to install fresh over the top of this and hope it works. I still have no Network, and since updates on my netbook, the Network has gone on there as well. It cant see this laptop at all now. The pc is completely f***ed. The partition screwed it right up, and it wont even load windows now. Something to do with the video card. If I do a fresh install, how do I install over the top of this installation, plus, what folders do I need to save, in order to transfer to the new install. I am really frustrated with this now. I wish I'd stayed with 9.04, that had very few problems. John -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

I have found that it is sometimes necessary to uninstall and reinstall the Flashblock add-on to Firefox after Ubuntu 9.04 updates. If I don't, I just see a blank space where an unblocked embedded video ought to be, but it could have other effects on other systems. Can anyone remind me of the location of the ppd file for Canon printers (for the pixma4600) Someone kindly put the address up a few weeks ago, but I was ill and didn't get round to downloading it. I did try the Canon website but the files I downloaded weren't right and the printer refused to print after a restart. Thanks in advance. Doing a quick google search came up with this... http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=975747 The above link also mentions this... https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters/CanonPrinters/CanonPixmaIP4200 It appears that you will have to download a PPD file direct from Canon's Rob web site, or possibly a driver. Good luck. -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

I will probably upgrade to 9.10 some time in May 2010, after the Lucid release, that way the main issues should be fixed. Right now I am happy with 9.04. Upgrade from 8.10 went great, video in websites seems a bit hit and miss, but its not essential. Have heard some good things about OpenChange; never used it or seen it in action though.
