Import queue sleeping?
Is there some problem with the import queue in Rosetta? I have uploaded several upstream translations the last few days (at least 40 of them). gfxboot-theme-ubuntu
In the module "gfxboot-theme-ubuntu" there are some strings regarding the word "disk". According to me (and others), disk = hard drive, disc = (compact) disc. There are numerous strings who are a bit confusing. "Insert boot disk %u." . What? Insert my boot hard drive? "This is not a suitable boot disk." "Disk Device (scan all disks if empty)" . What? Swedish translations in Ubuntu 6.10
I recently installed Ubuntu 6.10 from CD just to test out the Swedish translations. There are a lot of translations missing here. The only ones I could find was (under /usr/share/locale/sv/LC_MESSAGES): apt, debconf, dpkg, iso_3166_2, iso_3166, iso_4217, iso_639_3, iso_639, libapt-inst1.1, libapt-pkg3.51 Most of the installation steps were translated. When reaching the end of the copying files process, there were only English (preparing x ) Are the missing translation files gone on purpose or is there some mistakes involved here? The translations made by me (and others) are 100% complete. Untranslated string in Ubuntu GNOME
Hi all, Can someone point me in the right direction where I can find the strings used in the attached screenshots? These certainly looks like Ubuntu-only strings. I'm the only Swedish upstream GNOME translator, and I have never seen these in upstream GNOME. Language packs for feisty
When will you release language packs for feisty? Since I'm the Swedish GNOME translator, I would really like to see 2.17.x running on feisty with complete translations (2.18 is about to be released in March). At the moment, I have to manually msgfmt them into place. Missing strings in debian-installer?
Today, I installed the amd64-server version of feisty. I did noticed that the questions regarding special keys (åäö etc) on the keyboard were not translated. Neither did I see them when translating debian-installer. Translations in zope3
I'm a bit confused here. The source code for Zope 3.3.1 contains a lot of Swedish translations but none in Rosetta. Where can I find the strings listed in Rosetta in the source code? Do they actually get imported? Stuck in the priority loop
Hi all, I do have a serious problem, I'm stuck in the loop here. For about a year ago I manually uploaded all upstream translations from GNOME to replace all the 'evil things' that some temporary translators had caused in the dapper and edgy translations. This action was good (consistent translations with other distributions) but it now hitting me back in the face. I have done seriously large changes in the GNOME translations but they will not be automatically imported because of the import priority (Launchpad translations are superceding upstream translations). Questions is: can someone please 'reset' the origin field for all Swedish translations? Untranslatable strings
I noticed some strings/messages that wasn't translated (or translation used) when running the latest beta Ubuntu feisty/gutsy cd's (live and alternative) 1: Alternative 3 in the grub boot menu (Install with driver update CD) I think I remember that this string has been translated.. but not used. See http://home.danielnylander.se/ubuntu/ubuntu-nordic.png 2: On the alternative install cd there are a few questions regarding USB keyboards and keyboard map during the installation phase. I can't remember exactly what the messages said but there was some questions regarding which special keys you had on your keyboard (such as Do you have any of these keys, å ä ö etc). These questions end up in choosing the correct key map for your keyboard (which is A Good Thing). Maybe someone can help me find out how to bug report these strings (if they still are an issue). I guess that the keyboard issue is related to some (unofficial?) udeb used in debian-installer. My calculations shows that 95% of all Swedish translations are imported from upstream into Ubuntu, the rest is done in Launchpad (ubuntu-docs etc.) We have had a large number of "new" translators who submits really bad translations (Swedish is a very difficult language). Some even submits translations directly from Google Translate (so wrong and out of context). The problem we face now are all the open translations done in Launchpad (outside Ubuntu). Some are really bad and that will have a negative effect on the application usage, even if the application is a very good application. There are 2 new strings in update-manager. I thought we were in string freeze now? Has this been approved? "No init available" "Your system appears to be a virtualised environment without an init daemon, e.g. Linux-VServer. These strings are not from upstream what I can see. Swedish is 100% in
upstream (I manage it) but 12 new strings has been added for lucid.
Examples:
