Nice job :)

But before starting with 13.04, I would like to finish the releasing of
precise-e2 in german with your help. The tex-file is ready on bazaar, so
maybe now there is a little time left?

This is the next item on my to do list. I'll try to get that done this weekend.

Hi Kevin,

thanks for your answer, but no pressure. Just wanted to send a
remainder, because I got nearly no feedback for the last announcement.

Hi!

I would like to thank Kevin and the rest of the team for all the effort
they've put in the latest release of Ubuntu Manual.

I would also like to let other teams that there are quite a few new
translation strings (> 500) for 13.04, mostly because Launchpad poorly
handles slightly changed long strings (doesn't display them as suggestions).
What you can do is to download .po file for 12.10 manual open it with
Poedit (or other applicable software and use "Update catalog from pot file"
option (use 13.04 .pot file for updating of the files).
In case of Slovenian language I got almost 400 fuzzy matches (can depend
slightly on your translation memory) and only 172 untranslated strings will
be remaining once I sort our the fuzzy strings, which is typically MUCH
faster than redoing the translations.

I hope this tip helps someone

regards and thanks again for all your hard work

Re: [Ubuntu-manual] Getting Started with Ubuntu 13.04 available fortranslation

2013-04-26 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn

Hello Andrej,
Thanks for the tip. Here is another one for translators.
Download a finished translation from LP (in my case version Precise-e2),
and the po file of the new version, in this case ubuntu-manual Raring.
With the command msgmerge stable po file unfinished po file > merged po
file you get a merged file with all the fuzzies in it. You can
change/approve the fuzzies in this merged file in a translation
program. I use lokalize, but there are many more. Finally, upload the
translation to LP. The translation team can then finish the untranslated
strings.

2013-04-26 Thread David Manuel Pires
Hi.

Just want to congratulate everyone for the good job done.

It was my first experience on this project, and although a small one, it
served as a kick start for the next as it provided me with know-how and
skills in order to be able to a larger contribution for the upcoming 13.10
release in which I hope and desire I'll be able to be a much more
active contributor.

In the meanwhile I'll start working on the translation for Portuguese.

Finally I just want to thank everyone for the help provided and specially
Hannie and Kevin for all the pointers and howto's, particularly with bzr.

Best regards,

David Pires
