No, they will not. They are block level encryption tools. The eCryptfs
that Ubuntu uses for home directory encryption can be used for folder

AcidRip < http://untrepid.com/acidrip/ > is a good ripping tool for
ubuntu. You can install it using following command.

sudo apt-get install acidrip

It seems that you had selected the first title/chapter of the VCD to Rip
thats why you are getting the Ripped version of the title ( some part of the

No you are not right. The all happend because some problems in ubuntu-in
list. When ever i send a mail to this list i will get a bounce from the list
saying that " your mail has to be confirmed by list moderator . If he

I had send the problem about 2 weeks earlier after waiting for list aprooval
i went for www.ubuntuforum.org where i got a better explaination for the
solution of my problem. After that i got the moderator aprooval and then got
the response from the list.

i suggest ntfs-config because installing ntfs-config will automatically
install ntfs-3g also. Ntfs-config gives a good graphical user interface
configuring ntfs-3g. If you are keen to know how to configure ntfs-3g
manually i think its better to go for ntfs-3g only

ubuntu forum is a best source to know about ntfs acess there are many
threads related to ntfs. search the tag ntfs or ntfs-3g you will be
presented with much more information about ntfs.

as far i know the ntfs support for linux is experimental and from the forum
i found that its good to go for providing ext3 or 2 support for windows use
this software for that purpose - http://www.fs-driver.org

but i am using ntfs-3g because i dont want to change my partition system. My
ntfs partition is bigger than my linux partitions so i decided for giving
ntfs acess to my ubuntu

Unni,

Please don't do top posting on mailing lists. You may want to read
http://ubuntu-in.org/wiki/Mailing_list_FAQ
You are right that clam takes time for scanning. But it is pretty good
at the job of virus detection.

Also you may not need antivirus on GNU/Linux but you may need to use
it, on systems with dual boot, to scan Windows partitions if you are
unable to boot into Windows due to virus.

Ram,
Take my advice and get read of Windows. :-)
