Re: [ubuntu-in] All hands on the deck!
Hi, I just want to know if we are going to use some CMS or Wordpress or can we go with a custom lightweight Django application? I will show a few samples when I get time tomorrow. BTW I think we can use the marketing material available at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~t-w-/+junk/spreadubuntu_art/files which is made by Thorsten Wilms. Additionally, OMG! Ubuntu! people have released their branding assets at http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/ohso_brand_assets.zip which we can use for artwork instead of developing ours from scratch. We will add a link to their website in the Credits/Thanks section. -- Manish -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

But he runs two windows versions as well as one kubuntu. He is a windows person who dabbles with linux. On my machine its too late - i already have grub - otherwise would have given it a go, maybe what i will do is recover windows boot loader and then try and see. Any way right now i have a warranty wallah machine to get my hands dirty on. ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Re: [ubuntu-in] install vlc player
Hi Sandeep: Not really. You'll need to grab the dependencies too. That's why there are packaging systems on the OS. That said, Keryx Project might be helpful for you[1] [1]http://crashsystems.net/2009/01/keryx-tutorial/ Warm Regards Nigel Babu On Sat, Oct 9, 2010 at 8:10 PM, Nigel Babu wrote: > Hi Sandeep: > > Not really. [ubuntu-in] Ubuntu 10.10 RC upgrade stuck
Hi, I've always been an early upgrader to the latest beta and RC versions of Ubuntu but this Ubuntu 10.10 is doing my head in. I've shared in the past how I couldn't even install Ubuntu 10.10 on the system and was getting those matrix like green dots on boot. It turns out 10.10 RC is also behaving the exact same way. Trying not to lose hope I tried to upgrade my 10.04 installation through an alternate CD but it seems I'm out of luck there as well. I've been stuck on this screen for 20 minutes now and it doesn't even move. http://i.imgur.com/UMBwW.png I know that Ubuntu 10.10 final release comes out on 10/10/10 (tomorrow). My concern is that whatever this problem is, it seems to be an issue specific to my PC configuration, I'm just hoping that the problem doesn't sneak into the final release and ends up not letting me install Ubuntu 10.10 on my PC. I think we already had discussion on this and some felt that we should let the content management be left to the current wiki format, so that all can make contribution easily, and also save us the time and energy of setting up a new CMS. Having said that, I personally feel that we should have a blog on one part of the site, or a blog aggregator of some sort where all the blogs of Indian Ubuntu users can be synced together. > I will show a few samples when I get time tomorrow. > BTW I think we can use the marketing material available at > http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~t-w-/+junk/spreadubuntu_art/files which is made > by Thorsten Wilms. > > Additionally, OMG!
