Re: Requesting Pixel desktop on ubuntu, LXQT is totally bad!

2018-11-19 Thread Edney Helenedossantos
About the LXQT and Pixel desktop, pixel desktop does have its version to pc
so no adaptation is needed!
LXQT will only be my main driver when it finally starts to work with hidpi
monitors instead of forcing users to create an .Xresources file with
xft.dpi setting to make it usable, also on my machine it uses almost the
same memory as xfce, so why would anyone use it? If you want to make it
usable for users you gotta fix these two problems and make sure that its
going to be more usable on hidpi monitors and consume less ram at all,
maybe if you replace openbox with something like kwin by default the
usability may be better on hidpi screens

Nvidia X-run is the best solution for optimus, better than prime-select!

2018-11-19 Thread Edney Helenedossantos
Dear Developers, first i want you to know that you can count with me for
more testing as far as i have optimus laptop and experience i would love to
be part of the development, in my testes, i can obtain the best results
with bumblebee + Nvidia x-run, nvidia prime and bumblebee alone have poor
performance on games.

Also the prime-select i dont know why makes my nvidia optimus card hotter
than it should and as far as it uses prime i dont see any performance gain,
its far from the ideal, you should focus on nvidia x-run implementation!

Maybe if you could make something like the user types nvidia-xrun and it
automatically closes the actual session and opens other with nvidia
discrete card isolated instead of manual entering into tty2 and log in
manually would be fantastic!

CAn you please do it and implement it on ubuntu? shouldnt be that hard and
users will be happy forever, the difference on the fps here in my machine
is more than 10 fps from each other, and trust me im not even using minimal
openbox to run it, im using mate, and still the fps performance is
fantastic!
