I've able to run jwm (startx jwm) and rxvt. Hello Joseph, I've installed the latest kernel (4.6.0-040600rc7-generic). The situation was same I've got a same kernel message: "Audigy2 value: Special config." I've able to get stereo output from the card by enabling a mysterious "Audigy A" switch in the alamixer. The tone control works too. Hello guys, I have two different desktop computers and a same problem: - i7-2600 + nVidia 460SE1024 - AMD X2 3800+ + GA nVidia 7200 card I use kubuntu AMD64 natty. The problem is a same: there are no console fonts and I unable to switch back to text mode, the sccreens are blank. There are no splash screens too. Both new install and there are no modifications to any standard config files. Can I disable fbdev somefow?
