[Bug 1891835] [NEW] installer crashed while completing disk partitioning

2020-08-16 Thread steve lubbs
Public bug reported:

I was installing 20.04 on USB over 17.10. Separate partitions for / (100
GB), /boot (35 GB), and swap (16 GB). efi partition 100 GB. First
attempt I checked the box for format for / and /boot. Installer hung and
I rebooted to to main drive and couldn't find efi partition. Tried
install again and it crashed. And here we are. No syslog or partman log
because you don't give instructions to do so until I get here and it's
too late. Sorry.

[Bug 1712089] Re: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyUnable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused

2017-10-27 Thread steve lubbs
A Complaint: The work-arounds given here no longer function after the
recent updates. WTF! How about fixing this requirements-related bug so I
can partition my new drive? Barring that give me an Ubuntu-supported
path back to 17.04 that doesn't involve my losing all my data.

A Suggestion: provide a configuration option to turn this behavior off
in setup. It would still be annoying but at least we would be able to
get our work done. Oh, and how about ASSIGNING someone to fix the bloody
bug???
