[Bug 381876] Re: eee 901 ralink rt2860 wireless problem
I'm so sorry for this but report, I shouldn't have put it here, here how I fixed the problem at first I thought the the problem was in ubuntu, but as I read the log files that you ordered, I noticed that its something about unloaded modules, so I've googled the acpi scripts available to control the hot keys and I found that some modules was needed for the hotkeys to work(they didn't work on eee-control), so I've removed it and tried the Eeeasy-Scripts and it worked fine after adding some lines to the /boot/grub/menu.lst and installing asus_eee and dkms(included with the scripts) ... http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=65606 so I'm sorry again, finally the problem was that either eee-control didn't work or i didn't know how to get it work(and i guess thats it, 'cuz it worked with others) I only wish that nobody needs to modify it to get it work. -- eee 901 ralink rt2860 wireless problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 335682] Re: [jaunty] [Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook PC] suspend/resume failure [non-free: nvidia]
Hi, With the new release of Ubuntu I have tried the Suspend/Hibernate feature again ( like in 4 previous releases too ) and it didn't work again. I wanted to report it but then I saw that there are already many similar report so I just watched this one. Three days ago I gave up but I had an other problem. Every time the battery was critical Kubuntu has tried to hibernate my system and it didn't work of course. BTW I know that with 0% my laptop work about 30-45 minutes. I could find the setting to switch hibernation off and therefore I googled for the solution. [Bug 320798] Re: [jaunty regression] No sound with HDA intel
It still doesn't work for me and I hear only silent noise. Matt's "temporary fix" works. But as I see it's rather ugly since it just kills pulseaudio. What is more - as far as I remember in Hardy I was also using the testing version and the sound was broken as well. And I was only able to hear that noise. -- [jaunty regression] No sound with HDA intel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320798 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 262820] [NEW] Duplex and multiple pages per one
Public bug reported: Hi, I use ubuntu 8.04. I wanted to print a book, 2 pages per 1. My hp 6980 has duplex so I checked the duplex printing. But then I realised that instead of printing pages 1 and 2 on one side and 3 and 4 on the other I need 1 + 4 and 2 + 3. Then I could simply fold the sheet and have what I want. I found out later that there's something like mpage with -E and -O, but I think that it should be build-in gnome printing system. Shouldn't it? [Bug 421812] [NEW] Saitek X52 Pro not detected/detected as mouse
Public bug reported: I wanted play a bit fgfs and had to realize that my joystick don't work any more. It is a bit strange because I'm pretty sure that it did work several weeks ago. I'm using (K)Ubuntu 9.04 and I know that I was able to calibrate this joystick (Saitek X52 Pro) in the "System Settings" -> "Keyboard & Mouse" -> "Joystick". Now there is only error message "No joystick device found on this computer" I checked it and there is indeed no /dev/js device. If I plug this joystick in my computer dmesg detects it like this: [13654.784428] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 2 [13657.010948] usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4 [13657.197966] usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [13657.212791] input: Saitek Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System as /devices/pci:00/:00:1a.0/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/input/input10 [13657.229529] generic-usb 0003:06A3:0762.0007: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Joystick [Saitek Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System] on usb-:00:1a.0-1/input0 I saw that HAL assigns this device to /dev/event9 so I suppose that it could be the problem. I tried to symlink /dev/event9 to /dev/js0 but it didn't work. KDE Joystick setting said that this device isn't a joystick. I've tried to uninstall xserver-xorg-input-joystick and install it again but it don't help too. I'm attaching lsusb. lshal and dmesg output. My kernel is: 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux I'm using KDE 4.3 I saw that there are similar reports but I believe that this is not the same problem as my X-Server does not crash and I don't want to use my joystick as a mouse. The other one report I've found concerns the beta version of Jounty and I'm using the stable version and as I wrote above, this joystick did work before. The only one big update I did in the meantime was the update to KDE 4.3 Best regards, Neo ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Saitek X52 Pro not detected/detected as mouse https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/421812 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1919248] [NEW] (nvidia) ubuntu-drivers - no autoinstall, no luck.
Public bug reported: Hello, i used to install on my pc with a Nvidia GTX 1650 running 18.04 or 20.04 LTS the correct drivers with "sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall" which would download alot of packages and correct the single display output to dualmonitor setup after a reboot. now, after a fresh installation i find that "autoinstall" no longer works, as obsolete, but this prevents me from getting a dual-monitor setup nearly out-of- the-box. according to "additional drivers", i have "no proprietary drivers in use", but after loading the driver list, it switches to "1 propietary driver in use" and it says "nvidia-driver-460" if i would try to install this driver with "apt install nvidia-driver-460" it would download, nothing, so i guess it is already installed. however, no dualmonitor setup, and also the other monitor is not really recognized. as said, before , with the "sudo ubuntu-driver autoinstall" command, really alot of packages got downloaded and afterwards it functioned everytime; so now i wonder how such a routine could become obsolete and be replaced by somehting apparently not functioning so well. anyway, if i did something, wrong, please let me know. ah yes, and i did install Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with the option "safe graphics" , maybe the error is because of this? Re: [Bug 1919248] Re: (nvidia) ubuntu-drivers - no autoinstall, no luck.
thanks, i have re-installed the Operating-system without the safe-graphics option, and from there it was easily possible to switch from nouveau to the proprietary driver via "additional drivers" - and dual-monitor setup worked out-of-the-box. it seems that the safe-graphics option did complicate the setup a little bit, don't know why; still wondering why the autoinstall option became obsolete, but as long the additional drivers section is functioning, it is not so important. [Bug 1605875] [NEW] screen lock cycles screens on/off constantly
Public bug reported: Both my home and work machines, running Ubuntu Gnome 16.04, both fully up to date suffer this issue. I check both machines for updates daily in a hope for a fix to this extremely bothersome issue. The machines both have external monitors, and if I lock the screen with Win+L the screen will lock then sleep. A few seconds later, when the external monitor goes into "sleep" mode, the computer decides to "reconfigure" the connected displays (as happens when you unplug a display physically) and the screen is woken again for a few seconds, the screens and computer will then shortly thereafter return to sleep, monitor switches off and the cycle starts all over. This alone is annoying but not the worst issue. At work this causes all 3 of my screens to switch on and off every few seconds which is annoying for my colleagues if I'm away from my desk, and at home this results in the music, playing through my monitor-connected speakers to start/stop constantly as the monitor goes on and off. More importantly, once I log back in, gnome-shell is totally unresponsive and I have to restart it with CTRL+F2, r then performance returns back to normal, usually I'll see a bug report dialog if I've left it long enough (say gone out to lunch). I can add that if I use a "dumb" monitor over VGA for example and no other external monitors, there is no "sensing" occuring so the problem does not happen, sadly, most of my monitors are HDMI/DP. Both machines are laptops and do NOT suffer the issue if NO external displays are connected. It seems to me the bug is that the computer shouldn't "reconfigure" displays when the screen is sleeping and thus wake itself. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1605875 Title: screen lock cycles screens on/off constantly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1605875/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
