[Bug 2070150] [NEW] Cannot move a window of a pop-up with error message

2024-06-23 Thread max chistyakov
Public bug reported:

1. Currently lsb_release -rd show me Description: Ubuntu 24.04
LTS, but it seems I don't completely update from the 23.x version

2. apt-cache policy update-manager
update-manager:
  Installed: 1:24.04.6
  Candidate: 1:24.04.6
  Version table:
 *** 1:24.04.6 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/main amd64 Packages
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3. I upgraded the Linux from 23.x to 24.10. During the installation, a failure
happened, and was appeared a pop-up with a message "Could not install the
upgrades" . When I tried to move this pop-up apart (not to close, because if I
close the pop-up, the entire window is going to close), the "Distribution
Upgrade" entire window moved instead of the pop-up only (what I expected to
happen).
How it looks:
https://youtu.be/ShwYq5KcMp8
P.S. For something reason, there is no mouse pointer on the video, so it's not
clear I did move the pop-up, not entire window

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1871963] Re: dpkg fails to install grub-efi-amd64 signed and shim-signed

2024-06-23 Thread max chistyakov
If it fails because of `;;`, it's strange. Because my
/var/lib/dpkg/info/grub-efi-amd64-signed.postinst have the `;;` on 25th
line, but it correct according to `case esac` syntax

** Attachment added: "grub-efi-amd64-signed.postinst"

[Bug 1857392] Re: Window manager warning: Overwriting existing binding of keysym...

2024-05-15 Thread max chistyakov
I noticed this error messages:
1) when switch the language keyboard layout (with Super+Space)
2) or when switch to the Firefox or Chromium applications (both installed
through Snap

Despite I have catched this messages thousand times in a day, usually I
don't encounter the system freeze. Despite the source in logs is gnome-
shell, it appears in gnome applications also

Hardware: HP Pavilion 15-dk0064ur
Ubuntu 23.10
Gnome: 45.2 + Wayland

[Bug 2070150] Re: Cannot move a window of a pop-up with error message

2024-11-22 Thread max chistyakov
I've noticed the same behavior in another cases in Gnome. For example,
here I call the dialog window in the Firefox , and try to move the
dialog window, not the parent window. But, the entire window in moving,
not just a child. This behavior also noticed in snap desktop telegram
version, and Chrome, and many other apps

>but in practice most users will not display that section, and even if
they do the log is available on disk

then, what purpose of printing logs in the updater window, if nobody
can't see them in case of failure?
