Re: [Bug 120434] Re: [needs-packaging] Ricoh R5U870 Webcam Driver
Hi think the dkms package won't work with recent versions of the kernel (Intrepid). The development seems to have moved to a user space driver, so it would be nice if we could package it... [Bug 283785] Re: Could not create a GStreamer sink element to write
The problem was found by the gnome people: I had my library location set to '/home/franck/Musique', while it should have been 'file:///home/franck/Musique'. So resetting the location solved my problem. What is not known is how the library location was set to a file path instead of an url (while resetting, I have tried typing it on the keyboard or choosing it with the file chooser, and both methods transform it to an url...). [Bug 36189] Re: Applets do not scale well with changing resolution
It seems the workaround is working out of the box, without any user action (kind of a fix, in fact :) When were the said gconf keys introduced ? I went to the said keys in gconf and found they were already set (panel_right_stick, ...). So I changed my resolution, relaunched gdm, relogged-in, changed again back to 1200x800, and the applets where in the right place/ right order, except for the one that was in the middle of my panel, at a fixed position. So, apllets on the left where on the left, applets on the right where on the right in good order, and applets at an arbitrary fixed position were at an other arbitry fixed position. Not so bad. Quite good. [Bug 264228] [NEW] Mouse cursor "flips" while gnome loads
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-mouse I am testing Intrepid and can see the following problem: - after entering credentials in gdm, while gnome desktop loads, the mouse cursor "flips". That is, the mouse cursor is the waiting mouse cursor (little rotating circle), it is positionned rougthly in the middle of the display, but it keeps flipping from that position to another one, about 20 pixels to the lower right, and back to the middle of the display and so on. This happens until the desktop is fully loaded (including gnome panel). This gives an unpleasant feeling, although after the loading everything seems to work alright. In fact I think there are two distinct problems for me: - before 1ubuntu2, screen was flickering, with whole parts of the display moving (background, etc.) and mouse was flipping - with 1ubuntu2, only the mouse shows the weird behaviour Notice also I keep getting these two lines in the log, added each time I open an app and see the flipping: (II) intel(0): I2C device "LVDSDDC_C:ddc2" registered at address 0xA0. [Bug 256142] Re: Flickering with version 2.4.0
For me, 1ubuntu2 partly fixes the problem. In fact, I had two distinct symptoms, that is : 1) screen was flickering or "blittering", whole parts of the background had erratic moves 2) mouse pointer was "flipping", that is the pointer was switching from one point to another one about 20 pixels on the lower right 1) is fixed by 1ubuntu2. It was associated with the "underrun on pipe B" message in the log, and this error has disappeared as well. 2) remains. It is associated with another message in the log, that is not an error message (EE) but an information (II): (II) intel(0): I2C device "LVDSDDC_C:ddc2" registered at address 0xA0. (II) intel(0): I2C device "LVDSDDC_C:ddc2" removed. I opened a new bug specific to the second problem (#264228). [Bug 198759] Re: Right CTRL don't work
I am trying to figure out how to "define a new type in /usr/share/X11/xkb/types/extra that does the same thing as the current type used for the space key with right-ctrl hardcoded instead of using iso_level5". Current type used for the space key is EIGHT_LEVEL, as defined in "level4n" in symbols/nbsp. So I try to duplicate EIGHT_LEVEL (defined in types/level5) and append this to types/extra. But the syntax is not clear to me. Here is how EIGHT_LEVEL is defined: virtual_modifiers LevelThree,ScrollLock,LevelFive; type "EIGHT_LEVEL" { modifiers = Shift+LevelThree+LevelFive; map[None] = Level1; map[Shift] = Level2; map[LevelThree] = Level3; map[Shift+LevelThree] = Level4; map[LevelFive] = Level5; map[Shift+LevelFive] = Level6; map[LevelThree+LevelFive] = Level7; map[Shift+LevelThree+LevelFive] = Level8; level_name[Level1] = "Base"; level_name[Level2] = "Shift"; level_name[Level3] = "Alt Base"; level_name[Level4] = "Shift Alt"; level_name[Level5] = "X"; level_name[Level6] = "X Shift"; level_name[Level7] = "X Alt Base"; level_name[Level8] = "X Shift Alt"; }; SO we have three types of entries is this file, - modifiers = - map[ ] = - level_name[ ] = The question is, how to "hardcode" rctrl in this type entry, instead of the current Level5... If anybody has a clue on this, until now, I couldn't find my way in xkb docs...
