[Bug 252346] [NEW] /lib/modules/2.6.24.4-generic/volatile not created
Public bug reported: I have a problem where /lib/modules/2.6.24.4-generic/volatile is not created and causes an error on boot. I remedied the situation myself by creating the folder and rebooting. I have had the same problem with the folder being uncreated since alpha1 (obviously with different kernel) although alpha1 was an upgrade rather thna clean install. I today did a clean install of alpha3, formatting partition, and the folder still had to be manually created to resolve the error. Sorry I'm not sure which package to put this against. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: intrepid -- /lib/modules/2.6.24.4-generic/volatile not created https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252346 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 251107] Re: [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex
Hi - just a bit of information really, at the moment I don't actually have any problems with the 96 driver but On a default installation I was able to install the 96.43.09 driver and once I'd edited my xorg.conf started properly. After I'd changed the repos to those for jaunty - nothing was reported to be updated so that is good. On my normal installation the driver installed properly over the top of an already installed nvidia .run driver - I'd installed that one as soon as it became available and before I found this bug. But on neither of the installations did jockey inform me of there being a proprietary driver available - as I'd looked on my normal installation first I assumed that it was because of the already installed nVidia driver. As the same thing happened on the new and default install I now assume that to be not the case. I don't appear to have had yet a jockey update, if though it's down to servers catching up and jockey shows the driver I will come back and say so - I'm in the UK using the main server as repo source -- [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251107 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Installation worked ok with no error messages. However none of the openoffice paskages work - they start to start and nothing happens and I have to force quit. [Bug 445181] [NEW] mount of nfs fails at boot - Karmic beta
Public bug reported: Asked to provide the following with this bug - your /etc/fstab contents (for reference) - any error messages you see at boot time about mounting when booting without the 'splash' option - the results of 'sudo killall -USR1 mountall && mount', run on your system after boot when the network is up but without having mounted the filesystems by hand - the output of 'sudo status statd' # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'blkid -o value -s UUID' to print the universally unique identifier # for a device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name # devices that works even if disks are added and removed. I looked again in my BIOS - I found an option to change the boot order, changed to the drive that grub and /boot are installed to and the delay is gone for me now. -- ubuntu 9.10 beta "grub loadin" stay for more than 30 secondes" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 453876] Re: ubuntu 9.10 beta "grub loadin" stay for more than 30 secondes"
I have the same issue - though my Grub loading text lasts for approx 25s I removed the set quiet and quiet splash - nothing appears to be any different in any of the log files. That said I am not really sure which log file would show anything prior to the menu list being there and me being able to choose a kernel to boot from. As with the OP - once the menu list has appered and a kernel booted the boot doesn't appear to take any longer than normal. -- ubuntu 9.10 beta "grub loadin" stay for more than 30 secondes" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

ok - that's cool - I was just checking that I was not missing something I should have seen. I did wonder originally if it was the bug/issue where grub and boot were on different partitions - since then I reinstalled grub to sdb - same drive as /boot and the rest of the install.
