[Bug 305609] Re: cannot disable low ink warning

2009-04-14 Thread flowbot
I, too, would love to see the ability to turn off the "low on ink"
warnings everytime I print - I refill my cartridges, so they don't often
report correct ink level. Every single time I print, it says this ... it
really sucks.

[Bug 217967] [NEW] Can't install NFS for folder sharing

2008-04-15 Thread flowbot
Public bug reported:

Trying to install NFS via the shared folders application, and I tick the

i once tried to do this, but it appears that revelation and keepassx use
different formats, and none of the export formats support by revelation
are able to be imported into keepassx.

just tried this (building from source), but the problem presists.

[Bug 134146] Re: "Realtek 861 sound broken on kernel 2.6.22-10.30"

2007-08-23 Thread flowbot
On 2.6.22-9, alsamixer identifies my chip as SigmaTel STAC9228. With the
mixer channels, I can get audio out my speakers and headphones
(headphones also work in the line-in and mic-in jacks with the
appropriate switch set in alsamixer). Mic-in works for recording,
haven't tested line-in. But it all seems to work quite well.

On your suggestion, I tried the headphones on 2.6.22-10 (which reports
chip as SigmaTel ID 7616), and I could get sound out of the line-in jack
with my headphones, but nothing else ... there's only a total of 3 mixer
channels on 2.6.22-10, in and out.

I'll attach some stuff from -9 and -10.

[Bug 136214] Hibernate breaks when booting with USB device (/dev/sda* changes to /dev/sdb*)

2007-08-30 Thread flowbot
Public bug reported:

I installed Feisty on a clients laptop, and thought I had hibernate
working. However, it all breaks if there is *any* kind of USB device
plugged into the laptop when booting ... all partitions, including swap,
are changed from /dev/sda* to /dev/sdb*, so of course the resume device
cannot be found. This happens even with a HP Photosmart printer attached
to the USB bus.

As a workaround, I've tried setting up uswsusp to reference snapshot and
resume devices by their UUID rather than /dev/*, but I'm not sure if
this is possible.

Why is this happening, and is there any workaround that will let me
implement a successful resume in spite of shifting drive assignments?

[Bug 136214] Re: Hibernate breaks when booting with USB device attached (/dev/sda* changes to /dev/sdb*)

2007-08-30 Thread flowbot
Not sure about that, but I don't think this laptop even supports booting
from USB ... I'll check it out. I was, however, thinking that it may be
a BIOS thing - would it be possible that having USB legacy support
enabled in BIOS is contributing to this problem?

[Bug 136214] Re: Hibernate breaks when booting with USB device attached (/dev/sda* changes to /dev/sdb*)

2007-08-30 Thread flowbot
Yes, the USB printer that is attached when causing this problem is a HP
Photosmart 2710, which has a storage-card adapter. What you say makes
sense, as the problem doesn't occur with a USB wireless adapter - so I'm
guessing that the BIOS must be set to boot from USB before local disks.
Unfortunately, i won't be able to have a look at the clients machine for
a few days to confirm.

The laptop is a Pioneer M3 (?) ... I wasn't able to find much on it, but
it's possibly a very similar machine to the Toshiba M3.

[Bug 153963] Re: [PATCH] Add STAC9228 DMIC support.

2007-11-23 Thread flowbot
gutsy-proposed fix works for me, however it is not very useful as yet as
the capture volume on the mic is very, very low - perhaps unusable. Am I
missing some switch or channel that might be able to give a capture
boost?

[Bug 153061] Re: Dell Inspiron 1420 built-in microphone does not record

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 153963 ***

Would be really good to get this working ... I was recently subscribed
to the UVC mailing list, and from a post I saw there, this could be a
problem with UVC (webcam) module loading before usb-audio or something
like that.

[Bug 209974] [NEW] Xubuntu Hardy live installer doesn't detect HDD partitions

2008-03-31 Thread flowbot
Public bug reported:

I recently burnt the Xubuntu Hardy Heron Live CD Beta to install it to
my Inspiron 1420 laptop, which is currently running Xubuntu Gutsy Gibbon
and also has Windows Vista on another partition. When I try to install
Hardy with Ubiquity (or even with the new option to install straight
away without booting to live cd), I get to the partitioning part and
choose "manual". However, the partitioner does not detect any of my
existing partitions and only detects my entire hard drive as
"unallocated". Needless to say, I sure don't want to delete my existing
partitions, as I have a seperate /home partition containing all my data.

Here is my partition setup:

[code]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo fdisk -l
[sudo] password for shayne:

Disk /dev/sda: 120.0 GB, 120034123776 bytes

[/code]

It looks like it could be related to some of these bugs from previous
releases:

i've found it's possible to avoid the slowness by clicking on the
