[Bug 257988] [NEW] LastFM becomes zombie, busy ALSA
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lastfm On a fresh start LastFM starts and works perfect, sometimes when I shut it down it becomes a "zombie" and later when I try to start LastFM or RhythmBox i get "The ALSA soundsystem is either busy or not present." and nothing will play, but flash sound in from the browser or other system sounds still work. [Bug 452236] [NEW] system testing fails with working internal mic - hp dv4
Public bug reported: model is pavillion dv4 1114nr - the internal mic never worked at all for me on 8.10 or 9.04. this is with 32bit karmic so the system testing seems pretty buggy overall, but particularly the internal mic test was invalid. I found under sound settings that the mic was muted by default (why?). after unmutting it the sound level meter in the sound setting window did register noise, but in the testing area no playback ever occurred. sound recorder was able to record and playback with no problem. and latest skype beta works with default settings though mic level needs turned up. unable to test empathy/pidgin.
