[Bug 236344] [NEW] Line break occurs when typing password or canceling
Public bug reported: System: XPS M1330 running Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsusb |grep Finger Bus 007 Device 006: ID 0483:2016 SGS Thomson Microelectronics Fingerprint Reader I followed the guide located here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ThinkFinger Currently installed version: 0.3+r118-0ubuntu3 Issue: When I type my password or cancel instead of swiping my finger a line break occurs. Example: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ su vnewell Password or swipe finger: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ The above is a result of typing the command "su vnewell," and swiping my finger at the prompt. However, when I type my password and hit enter instead of swiping: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ su vnewell Password or swipe finger: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ Notice there is an extra line break that occurs after the authentication. [Bug 160264] Re: [nvidia] compiz displays white screen when locked
Following Clayton Smith's comment (69) using Mario's patch fixed the white screen on resume issue, but now I cannot use a "blank screen" for a screen saver. [Bug 279993] Re: Display bug in terminal with "cd" and "ls" in quick succession
Interesting... it only seems to happen when Nvidia powermizer is on Performance Level 0. The commands work fine when it's on Level 2! I am running a newer driver: The currently installed driver is: 'NVIDIA Accelerated Graphics Driver for Linux-x86_64' (version: 177.67). Maybe I'll try rolling back and see if I can still reproduce this bug. [Bug 279993] Re: Display bug in terminal with "cd" and "ls" in quick succession
I don't get this same problem in xterm or terminator. I am starting to believe that it is related to my nvidia driver, but I am perplexed as to why it happens in gnome-terminal only. It doesn't only happen with cd and ls, sometimes it will happen on other commands. This is just how I can reproduce it consistently (as long as Performance Level is on 0) I took a video and uploaded it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7f7fySzFUPE I hit enter at 0:07, showing the bug. This happens again at 0:21. Then I show the Performance Level's affect on the bug: I switch workspaces a few times to get the level to 2, then try to reproduce the bug and fail. The level drops to 1 at 1:12. I still cannot reproduce the bug. The Performance Level drops to 0 at 1:24, and I reproduce the bug at 1:32. This is on Nvidia 8400M GS driver 177.67 --- If people cannot report this bug for a supported driver I will have to take it up with nvidia. -- Display bug in terminal with "cd" and "ls" in quick succession https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279993 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
