[Bug 567069] [NEW] Volume is low even when setting volume to 100% with USB headset

2010-04-19 Thread Tor Henning Ueland
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

When setting the volume to 100%, the sound still stays to low to hear
anything.

I Have to run AlsaMixer through the console and set the volume there for
it to have effect on my headset, it appears that the volume set in
gnome-volume-control is multiplied with the level set in AlsaMixer?

It should not be nessessary to start a console application to get
correct sound on a -- plug and play -- USB headset.

Note that the sound using normal speakers/jack is normal.

[Bug 136252] Re: [->UUIDudev] mdadm.conf w/o ARRAY lines but udev/mdadm not assembling arrays. (boot & hotplug fails)

2012-07-28 Thread Tor Henning Ueland
I can also confirm that this bug is stil present on precise

I first did a release-upgrade when the crash started appearing. I
reinstalled the box and the issue still appears. I will try these tips
here regarding mdadm.conf.

On a related note. I find it interesting that my only RAID-device
becomes /dev/md127 instead of /dev/md0 as it has always been.

[Bug 789123] Re: Eclipse crashes/quits without any error messages

2011-07-06 Thread Tor Henning Ueland
I vent more or less through the whole of june with overlay scrollbars
disabled (since i simply dont like them yet). And i have not had a
single crash since that.

Allthough i have had 2 freezes of Eclipse, where it has typically used
100% CPU until i killed it. I have not digged too much into that yet
since i suspect it beeing a completely different problem/bug.

Public bug reported:

When filling out the password field in the Terminal Server Client, then

[Bug 717313] Re: df reports negative disk usage

2011-02-19 Thread Tor Henning Ueland
It went something like this:

cat /proc/mdstat
sudo mdadm --stop /dev/md1
mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdh
mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdj
mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdd
mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sde
mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdc
sudo mdadm --remove /dev/md1
umount /dev/md0
fsck.ext3 /dev/md0

mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdh
mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdk
mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdj
mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdd
mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdde
mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sde
mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdc
mdadm --add missing

I then tried some grow commands, before i noticed that the given version
of mdadm does not support grow, so i did a:

wget
http://ftp.at.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/mdadm/mdadm_3.1.4-1+8efb9d1_amd64.deb
dpkg -i mdadm_3.1.4-1+8efb9d1_amd64.deb

mdadm --grow /dev/md0 --level=6 --raid-devices=11

Once completed i did a:
resize2fs /dev/md0 12570G

After i re-mounted the device, the issue was gone.

I also noticed that munin reported negative disk usage, so it appears to
be a issue with mdadm/the device, and *not* df.

Problem:
When working on Java-classes my Eclipse can suddenly decide to just quit. No
"Saving workspace" or nothing, it just disappears just like that. This
typically happens around twice per day. The latest crash today came when i was
asking for code completion pop-up to appear for a class i was working on.

I have not found any logs or anything that gives any information about
these crashes, so please give me some tips for logs you want me to
check. (This is not serious enough to get in the syslog/dmesg)

2011-05-31 Thread Tor Henning Ueland
I have also started running Eclipse from the command line to see if it
gives me more info. But it has not crashed yet, still waiting for it :)

Regards,
Tor

[Bug 771724] Re: Selecting "Change Desktop Background" causes extreme flickering

2011-04-30 Thread Tor Henning Ueland
I have upgraded to natty now and that caused X to hang as soon as it
started. After setting up the x-conf again everything worked like a
charm again. So it can have been related to some glitches there.

So far i have not been able to reproduce this errror :)
