[Bug 391206] [NEW] no trashcan symbol visible with kernel 2.6.28-13-generic
Public bug reported: The Jaunty generic kernel was recently upgraded from 2.6.28-11 to 2.6.28-13 during updates. The Deleted Items folder visible in the original kernel is no longer present in the new kernel. So when an unwanted object, say a document, is removed to "Deleted Items", it in effect disappears from plain view. It can eventually be traced to the location trash:/// or otherwise called "Wastebasket", which again is not visible. As an inexperienced Linux user, I find this change confusing and frankly unnecessary. Further, according to the Jaunty Help Manual: Ubuntu Server Guide Moving a File or Folder to Trash Working with Hardware Devices empty your trash by right-clicking the trash icon on the bottom panel and selecting is misleading for the netbook Acer Aspire One A110, which does not have either a visible trashcan symbol or a bottom panel on the desktop. Could the Ubuntu bug team please look into these anomalies on the newer kernel and attempt to rationalize for better usability. Lastly I note on the Acer, inserting an SD card in the right hand side slot, doesn't mount the device. maybe something to do with pciehp needs forcing ? Many thanks, Rodney. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no trashcan symbol visible with kernel 2.6.28-13-generic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391206 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 380021] [NEW] all sstv modes are completely wrong in Jaunty
Public bug reported: Package refers to qsstv 5.3c-8 The following fault has been reported by a few radio amateur users around the world and my experience is exactly the same as theirs. I run Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope on an Acer Aspire One Netbook A110 Standard transmitted picture tone sequences for all the sstv modes are completely wrong to normal. Similarly when receiving a correctly set up transmission, the picture never properly develops, as it is completely out of step at the wrong speed and synchronisation to the source. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- all sstv modes are completely wrong in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

There is not a problem with the Linux host platform. It just doesn't run properly whatever it's installed on. The program author should be contacted to sort it out as it seems to have a longstanding history problem with users.
