[Bug 2079941] [NEW] Ubuntu 24.10 wallpaper name warty-ubuntu-by-romactu1

2024-09-08 Thread Robert R. McDonald
Public bug reported:

ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu Oracular Oriole (development branch)
Release:24.10

ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~$ apt-cache policy ubuntu-wallpapers
ubuntu-wallpapers:
 Installed: 24.10.1
 Candidate: 24.10.1
 Version table:

The link is in here to replace it.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/14ku7AOxUAqGovW9aCKFj-UfR0IusXmI8/

Please make sure that is included as PNG file for Ubuntu 24.10.

My wallpaper name warty-ubuntu-by-romactu1 was included as JPG file, but
I wanted included as PNG file because JPG files can increase color
banding and PNG files can reduce it if need be.

Some games crashed on wine or not due to some weird bugs when I'd just changed
a volume like turn it up louder or turn it down quieter on Wayland.
I need that fixed.

It only happens when I'd logged in with Wayland, if I'm X.org some games
will be fine even I changed a volume.

I'm having a keyboard latency on Ubuntu 24.10 daily build, back in the
day 24.10 used to have no keyboard latency while some games on Steam
proton ran smooth.

So whether the game run smooth or not, any of my keyboards even with
controller using keyboard input are having latency for no reason at all
but it's just a weird bug that is bothering me.

If I'm using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, I get no keyboard latency on any games
thankfully but when I installed Ubuntu 24.10 or upgrade to 24.10 while
on daily build, now some games through Steam proton will have keyboard
latency again whether it runs smooth or not, keyboard are still having
latency which it's bothering me.

It just happen every time I'd installed or upgrade to Ubuntu 24.10.

[Bug 2083256] [NEW] Iwlwifi reboot is not working on Ubuntu 24.10 as an error

2024-09-30 Thread Robert R. McDonald
Public bug reported:

When I was trying to reboot my Wi-Fi based on iwlwifi.
I tried "sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi" it removes iwlwifi but when I tried to
restore iwlwifi with this command "sudo modprobe iwlwifi" it didn't boot up
iwlwifi but restart a computer re-enables it back on.

Back in Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, "sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi" to remove iwlwifi
and "sudo modprobe iwlwifi" to restore iwlwifi works just fine, no
restart a computer needed.

[Bug 2083256] Re: Iwlwifi reboot is not working on Ubuntu 24.10 as an error

2024-10-01 Thread Robert R. McDonald
** Description changed:

Since I've upgraded to 24.10 on beta, there's something wrong with an
  Intel Wi-Fi driver version 7265.

[Bug 2077670] Re: Keyboard latency on Ubuntu 24.10

2024-11-24 Thread Robert R. McDonald
Hello hurelhuyag (hurelhuyag),

If you want to downgrade ibus, first you need to install Ubuntu 24.04 or
older on a virtual machine because you have to use them to download an
older version of ibus and then send it to Ubuntu 24.10 and install and
older ibus version using this command.

sudo dpkg -i /home/(username)/downloads/(filename) yes, drag a file to the
terminal to include directory or else it won't work.
You'll want to include directory and filename because without directory before
the filename sometimes doesn't work that way.

Just be aware this will make language support become useless until
installing Ubuntu 24.10's current ibus version, but this eliminates
keyboard latency (Unless on low frame rate). Yes, it works for me.

[Bug 2077670] Re: Keyboard latency on Ubuntu 24.10

This issues is caused by iBus.

So if I use XIM instead of iBus, it eliminate the latency.

[Bug 2077670] Re: Keyboard latency on Ubuntu 24.10

2024-11-23 Thread Robert R. McDonald
Hello everyone, this bug report post is no longer expired.

Because I found the reason why I'm having keyboard latency every time I
use Ubuntu 24.10 to play games, the answer was ibus version 1.5.30 so
when I downgrade it to 1.5.29 from Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, it just eliminated
the latency.

I hope you Ubuntu developers fix the ibus version for Ubuntu 24.10 or
later with updates if needed.

Yes, it's just basic type ibus (not other types of ibus like table or
something).

[Bug 2105402] Re: Plucky fails to boot on (older) Macs

2025-05-05 Thread Robert R. McDonald
Hello Eric Chu (echu888), that link talks about Ubuntu 25.04 on a
snapdragon device, which I don't have a device that has that kind of a
processor. But I can say that my Mid-2012 13" Apple MacBook Pro (9,2)
can't boot to Ubuntu 25.04, but it used to, due to Linux Kernel
6.14.0-15, unless use 6.14.0-10 or older ones.
